5.0 out of 5 stars Good for understanding Nagios complexity, 12 Nov. 2011
If you want to install Nagios and don't know a bit about it, you *must* read this one.
It's a great book to understand how Nagios works, how to install it and to learn the options you can use.
But it doesn't cover Nconf, which is a great way to manage Nagios installations!
My suggestion: 1) read this book. 2) install Nagios AND nconf. 3) use nconf to manage Nagios.

A Fire Upon the Deep (Zones of Thought)
A Fire Upon the Deep (Zones of Thought)
by Vernor Vinge
Edition: Mass Market Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars so good you would like to have more, 15 Dec. 2010
Complex galactic hard sci-fi, they way you wanted it!

In an era of trilogies, tetra and pentalogies... is this left alone? When you arrive at the end of the book you feel a bit sad.

Red Dwarf: Series 1-8 [DVD] [1998]
Dvd ~ Chris Barrie

5.0 out of 5 stars just watch it!, 16 Sept. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Human population is unequally divided in two: those who don't understand Red Dwarf, and those who love it.
Whose side are you on?
When I read the books (yes! they wrote some novels of RD) I found myself laughing desperately in a railway station. The shows are just... epic.

2.0 out of 5 stars a bit obsolete, by now, 16 Sept. 2010
Check publication date, this book is now a bit obsolete. Otherwise, is very clear and well written. If you approach Qt, you may find it useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but..., 16 Sept. 2010
This is one of the very few books on the subject, so it easliy can hold the tag of "best", but it has some drawabacks.
There is insufficient (too simplistic) database coverage, and some subjects have examples using QtDesigner and some othe subjects have examples without use of QtDesigner: if you are a QtDesigner type, half of the book is OK and half of it is difficult. If you, instead do not use Designer... half of the book is difficult, and the other half is OK!
If you work on Qt, you *must* read this book. But it won't change your life (nor your code).

2.0 out of 5 stars a F.A.Q. on paper, 15 Sept. 2010
it seems to be "Frequently Asked Questions" on paper.
You may get a bit disappointed if you need help on administrative tasks: it just helps to solve some specific problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for pros, 15 Sept. 2010
if you are planning to set up a network and configuring services by yourself... this book says, by far, more and better than any other book on the matter.
