5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely teen chick flick, 29 Sept. 2013
This review is from: Sleepover [DVD] [2004] (DVD)
This is the perfect teen chick flick 12_18 audience with lots of laughs and a good original plot. Julie is not cool and is tired of being invisible. Determined not to be eating by the dumpsters at lunch in highschool she and her friends decide to embark on a scavenger hunt against the cool mean girls while at her birthday sleep over. They sneak out and complete a number of fun filled challenges such as sneaking out to a nightclub and going on a date with the teacher, rearranging manicans in a shop window, stealing her altime crushes boxer shorts all while being hunted down by the local cop who thinks they are kids causing trouble in the neighbourhood. It is a great t coming if age film with the ultimate prize being getting the hottest guy, the best lunch spot and decent nice girl friends and surviving high school.

5.0 out of 5 stars lovely emotional heart warming film, 29 Sept. 2013
This review is from: Charlie St. Cloud [DVD] (DVD)
Charlie was an ace sailing champion with a whole lot of potential. However while sneaking out while his mum is out he goes for a drive and ends up taking his younger brother who he has a great relationship with. There is a terrible car accident and Charlie almost dies and his younger brother does die. Charlie is deverstated as he feels responsible for his brothers death. He turns into a reclose who stops sailing as it reminds him of his brother too much and just generally slips away from society. The film skips a few years when Charlie is probably around 20 - he is a park ranger/grave yard care taker so that he is always close to his brother. However Charlie has been granted the gift of being able to see his brothers ghost/spirit and they make a pact to meet every day at sunset at their favourite parkland to play baseball. Charlie bumps into a girl from his high school class who is a sailer - they meet up and by falling in love with her he finally starts to let go of his brothers death and try to move on and back into reality. It is nice and emotional and heart warming - a total chick flick not silly at all and zac looks gorgeous in it!

The Legacy
The Legacy
by Katherine Webb
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous, intriguing and original!, 12 Feb. 2013
This review is from: The Legacy (Paperback)
I absolutely loved The Legacy! I had never read anything by Katherine Webb before but having finished The Legacy I ran down to the library to grab a copy of The Unseen and am sure that it won't be a disappointment! I loved the setting of The Legacy and the lanuage was beautiful. I also really loved the original and unique concept of switching between past and present in each chapter and the fact that you were learning about the ancestors of the present and how their lives were interlaced but changed. I became much attached to all the characters who all have fabulous secrets!Really great read which I finished in less than a week. Go and read it now!!!
