5.0 out of 5 stars Nigella returns with a camp, compulsive read, 3 Sep 2002
This review is from: Forever Summer (Hardcover)
It will come as no surprise to anyone who's read her previous books that Nigella Lawson's latest offering is unputdownable. The prose is engaging, the recipes make you want to rush to the kitchen, and the art direction is outstanding. The campness of the whole thing is pitched perfectly to the summer theme, and makes this a rather fun read. Copying the way Nigella herself treats good cookery books, you'll want one copy for the kitchen and one for the bedside table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nigella: The English Goddess of Food Writing, 26 Nov 2000
No amount of hyperbole could adequately describe just how wonderful this book is. It's as satisfying a read as a good novel, and you'll want to try your hand at every recipe on every page. So far I've made no less than twelve of them -- having only had the book for a couple of weeks -- and could not be more pleased with the results (says she who is clumsy and lazy when it comes to cooking and baking). This tome has rarely left my reach since it arrived, but it looks so nice on the shelf alongside How to Eat that I may have to buy another copy when I stock up on them come gift-giving time. I, and my husband and friends, who have benefited almost as much as I have from this book, anxiously await Nigella's next essential food title. --Jackie Danicki
