Seinfeld - Season 8 [DVD] [2007]
Seinfeld - Season 8 [DVD] [2007]
Dvd ~ Jerry Seinfeld
Price: 10.00

4.0 out of 5 stars Yada Yada Yada, 23 April 2014
Season 8 of Seinfeld begins where Season 7 left off with George moving on following the death of his fiancé and while this season is not the strongest of the show, it still contains enough classic episodes to stay strong.

Such classics include 'The Little Kicks' where Eliane is revealed to be a terrible dancer, 'The English Patient' where Elaine shows her dislike for the famous Academy Award winning movie and 'The Yada Yada' where George dates a woman who always uses the phrase "Yada Yada Yada" to shorten her conversations.

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent sequel to a classic original, 22 April 2014
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey is the sequel to the classic 1980s film Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and in my opinion is a prime example of why making a sequel darker than the previous movie doesn't always make it better. The film does start out very well but kind of drifts off in the second half, but William Sadler does a great job as Death and Joss Auckland makes for an entertaining villain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Anyone for Bosco?, 21 April 2014
The 7th season of Seinfeld would end up being writer Larry David's last on the show (though he would later return to help write the finale episode) and so he was determined to go out with a bang. Now while Season 7 may not be the best season of Seinfeld, it is definitely a worthy season and a big step up from Season 6.

Like Season 4, this season features an entire story arc which sees George become engaged to former girlfriend Susan, who was ironically he girlfriend from Season 4. However, George quickly starts to regret the decision and is constantly trying to figure a way to get out of it without success. But will he get out of it by the season finale?

The one flaw I found with this season is noticing how Eliane had become a lot more bitchy, whether it would be loosing her temper at barking dogs or her unwillingness to waste any of her sponges or any man she doesn't consider 'sponge worthy'.

However, the show is still as funny as ever featuring such classics as 'The Soup Nazi', 'The Sponge' and the highly controversial season finale in 'The Invitations'.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great adventure for The Amazing Spider-Man, 20 April 2014
Despite the complaining from certain critics and fans concerning another entry in the Spider-Man reboot, I was really looking toward to the sequel to the highly underrated The Amazing Spider-Man. Thankfully for me, it delivered.

Andrew Garfield is once again on top form as Spider-Man/Peter Parker and his chemistry with Emma Stone is stronger than ever, who is absolutely perfect as love interest Gwen Stacey. Introduced to the franchise is Jamie Foxx as Max Dillion/Electro a scientist who idolises Spider-Man who finds himself turned into an electric-powered monster after a horrific accident. Also introduced is Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne/Green Goblin, an old friend of Peter's who finds himself dying due to a supposed family curse.

Some may complain about the characters of The Green Goblin and Rhino playing minor roles in this film, but since they were basically introduced to play bigger roles in future movies (unlike Spider-Man 3 where multiple villains were introduced and disappeared forever in the blink of an eye), it is perfectly set up to lead to the build up the group known as Sinister Six.

So in conclusion, this is a highly worthy sequel, and makes me look forward to the future of the franchise.

Steptoe & Son - Series Five [1970] [DVD]
Steptoe & Son - Series Five [1970] [DVD]

4.0 out of 5 stars Everyone's favourite rag and bone men are back, 20 April 2014
After a four year absence, Steptoe and Son returned for its fifth series, originally shot in colour but after the original copies were mislaid the series was broadcasted in black and white and to this day no colour copies have been found. Fortunately, this doesn't effect the quality of the series whatsoever as it is even stronger than it was before.

The series starts with the episode 'A Death in the Family' where Harold returns home with some back news for his father on the condition of their horse Hercules. In 'A Winter's Tale', Harold plans on a skiing holiday to Austria with out his father and then has to worry about a friendship with an antique dealer in 'Any Old Iron?'. Things get even worse for Harold in 'Steptoe and Son- And Son' when a woman turns turns up on the doorstep with some startling news and in 'The Colour Problem' he dreams of buying a new car while his father yearns for a new television set. His father then worries about doctors finding something wrong with his lungs in 'T.B Or Not T. B' and the duo face the risk of being booted out of their house after their freehold runs out in 'Men of Property'.

The Complete Yes Minister - Collector's Boxset [1980] [DVD]
The Complete Yes Minister - Collector's Boxset [1980] [DVD]
Dvd ~ Paul Eddington
Price: 7.75

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the cleverest and funniest sitcoms ever, 19 April 2014
You would normally think a sitcom set in government wouldn't be destined for success; but Yes Minister proved this theory wrong. Yes Minister is not just funny, it's one of the funniest and more clever sitcoms ever made.

Yes Minister follows Minster for Administrative Affairs Jim Hacker and his constant conflicts with Civil Servant Humphrey Appleby. Hacker's principle private secretary Bernard Wooly usually finds himself stuck in the middle unsure which side to take.

The show feature many classic moments, whether it be Humphrey's repetitive rambling speeches, Hacker's constant incompetence or Bernard's misunderstanding of Hacker's statements.

Classic episodes include 'The Right to Know' where Hacker finds himself in hot water after his daughter joins a protest against exterminating badgers, 'The Devil You Know' where Hacker is asked to attend a conference in Brussels, 'The Skeleton in the Cupboard' where a mistake Humphrey make 30 years before comes back to haunt him and of course 'The Moral Dimension' featuring the famous communications room scene where Hacker receives many messages from 'Mr Walker, Mr Haig and Mr Smirnoff'.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure [DVD]
Dvd ~ Keanu Reeves
Price: 7.25

4.0 out of 5 stars A classic 1980s adventure, 19 April 2014
Keanu Reeves catapulted to superstardom with this 1980s favourite; unfortunately not so much for Alex Winter.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure may be seen as a rip off of Back to the Future, however hit is a highly entertaining movie as two wannabe guitarists face the danger of being expelled if they fail their History exam, only to receive help from a time traveller from the future in a phone booth.

Seinfeld - Season 6 (4 discs) [DVD] [1994] [2005]
Dvd ~ Jerry Seinfeld
Price: 10.00

4.0 out of 5 stars A step down from the last 3 seasons, but still great, 19 April 2014
The 6th season of Seinfeld maybe a step down from the last few seasons, but compared to later seasons in most sitcoms, it is still a great season.

The main stand out episode is 'The Big Salad' where George gets easily offended when he doesn't get the credit for buying Eliane lunch when his new girlfriend hands it to her. Also in 'The Switch' Jerry attempts to pull the infamous roommate switch with his girlfriend and after years of anticipation, Kramer's first name is finally revealed.

Doctor Who - The Movie [1996] [DVD] [1963]
Dvd ~ Paul McGann

Price: 12.20

3.0 out of 5 stars The last of the doctor...at least for nearly ten years, 18 April 2014
After Sylvester McCoy's run as The Doctor came to an end, Doctor Who took a break for several years before returning for Doctor Who The Movie starring Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor in an attempt to bring the series back. Unfortunately, the movie was not a success and the series was stuck in limbo for almost ten years as a result before making its return in 2005.

Paul McGann does a fine job in the role, but does nothing relatable to the Doctor previous incarnations as the movie focuses mostly on him adjusting to his new body and attempting to find the T.A.R.D.I.S. The villian and companion are pretty forgettable resulting in a disappointing run for the Eighth Doctor.

The Young Ones: Series 1 & 2 [DVD]
The Young Ones: Series 1 & 2 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Rik Mayall
Price: 12.02

4.0 out of 5 stars Look out Cliff!, 17 April 2014
The Young Ones was a very unique sitcom during the 1980s about four university students who basically spend their time doing nothing related to their studies including shouting, swearing and fighting. Every week a band would make a guest appearance within the episode including 9 Below 0, Madness and Motörhead and also would feature some very bizarre props coming to life, including a fly on the wall.

The Young Ones catapulted its stars and writers to greater heights and changed the world of British comedy forever.
