Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street [Blu-ray] [2007] [2008] [Region Free]
Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street [Blu-ray] [2007] [2008] [Region Free]
Dvd ~ Johnny Depp
Price: £7.63

4.0 out of 5 stars A musical revenge awaits, 17 Feb. 2015
Tim Burton's film career may gone on the downside over the past decade or so, but Sweeney Todd easily stands as one of his best in the modern era.

Sweeney Todd is easily Burton's most violent movie (it's the only movie he's made to date with an 18 certificate rating), but that's not what makes it one of his best. At first it may be a surprise for Burton to have success with a musical, but he succeeds tremendously and Johnny Depp is in top from as the revenge driven Sweeney Todd who looks to avenge himself against the evil Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman) who had him sent to jail on a false charge. Helen Bonham Carter is also terrific as Mrs Lovett, the pie shop who helps Todd on his revenge driven quest.
The signing in the film is also surprisingly on top form and it's so amazing to see Depp and Carter performing the musical numbers you would think they had been doing it their entire careers.

WWE: Straight To The Top: The Money In the Bank Ladder Match Anthology [Blu-ray]
Price: £9.00

4.0 out of 5 stars 'I'm cashing it in!', 5 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Money in the Bank Ladder match was a concept created in 2005 and still goes on to this day. The winner of the match is guaranteed a WWE Championship match and can cash their title shot in any time they won't within twelve months. The concept while has created many terrific matches and cashins, some of the winners have been questionable and many have fallen from grace since losing the title following their cashins, but this Blu Ray set thankfully looks at the positives. Featuring many of the great Money in the Bank ladder matches and cashins this is a must for any WWE fan

Nikita - Season 1 [DVD] [2011]
Nikita - Season 1 [DVD] [2011]
Dvd ~ Maggie Q
Offered by HarriBella.UK.Ltd
Price: £7.49

4.0 out of 5 stars A surprising series with many twists and turns, 1 Feb. 2015
Nikita upon first viewing just seems like an excuse to create a sexier spy thriller television series. However, by the end of the first episode which features the first of many twists throughout the first season, you quickly realise that's not the case. Maggie Q is terrific as Nikita a highly skilled assassin who looks to extract revenge on her former employers, Division an ex government assassin group which had turned rogue. Shane West also gives a great perfromance as Michael, Nikita's trainer and Divison member who slowly starts to question the actions of the group. Lyndsy Fonesca is also great as Alex, an orphan whose parents were killed by Division who Nikita takes under her wing as they plan to bring down Division once and for all.

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent sequel to the comedy classic, 31 Jan. 2015
It was always going to be difficult to create a spinoff to the popular classic sitcom Open All Hours and while Still Open All Hours does a decent job at it, it is defiantly not one the same level, especially with the absence of Ronnie Barker as Albert Arkriet. David Jason, while he was terrific as the daydreaming Granville in the original series just comes across as an Arkriet copy without the famous stutter, even though he does use it occasionally.

4.0 out of 5 stars An 1980s comedy hit, 17 Jan. 2015
This review is from: Splash (Blu-ray)
Having finally seen one of Tom Hanks' comedy classic from the 1980s, I was literally surprised as to how much I enjoyed it and would say that I enjoyed it even more than Big, which is widely considered his all time greatest comedy film. Tom Hanks gives another terrific performance as down on his love life luck Alan who has been constantly looking for his ideal women, but never finding her until he meets Madison, who unbeknownst to him is actually the mirmaid who saved his life when he was eight year old. Daryl Hannah however, steals the film as Madison who quickly falls for Alan but can never bring herself to tell him who she really is.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Triple Play [Blu-ray + DVD + UV Copy] [2013]
Dvd ~ Jennifer Lawrence
Price: £8.00

4.0 out of 5 stars The Hunger Games franchise really does catch fire, 13 Jan. 2015
After watching The Hunger Games which was a decent start to the the franchise I was unsure about whether or not to catch the second film. However, due to the critical acclaim that Catching Fire received, I knew I had to check it out and while I think it's still not in the league of most of the Harry Potter films I do think it's was a great improvement on the first movie with a much more intreging storyline and much more at stake for the characters. Jennifer Lawerence really shines as lead characters Katness and while I think Josh Hutcherson is slightly miscast in the role of Peeta I still think he does a good job nonetheless.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's not the first time The Doctor landed in Scotland, 7 Jan. 2015
The early years of Tom Baker's run as The Doctor marked some of the best in the history of Doctor Who, and the classic serial Terror of the Zygons is one of the best of his entire run. Along with companions Sara Jane Smith and Harry, they face off against the shape shifting Zygons who look to take over Earth as their own after their own planet was destroyed. The zygons may not be the most intimidating monster compared to the likes of the Daleks and the Cybermen, but there run in this particular serial obviosuly left a mark as they would make another appearence in the 50th anniversary story The Day of the Doctor.

Blade [Blu-ray] [2012] [Region Free]
Blade [Blu-ray] [2012] [Region Free]
Dvd ~ Wesley Snipes
Price: £7.99

3.0 out of 5 stars For vampire movies fans only, 3 Jan. 2015
If you're a fan of vampire action movies, then Blade will be right up your street; however as I'm not a fan of vampires in movies at all, Blade was just not for me. Don't get me wrong, I think the action in the movie is terrific and Wesley Snipe does a great job in the role of the half human half vampire Blade who looks to protect the human race from the rath of pure blood vampires, but like most vampire movies, I found blade just to be too violent for my taste.

Life of Pi (Blu-ray)

4.0 out of 5 stars Visually stunning and entrolling, 1 Jan. 2015
This review is from: Life of Pi (Blu-ray) (Blu-ray)
Life of Pi was a movie I missed out on in the cinema due to hearing mixed things about the novel, but after hearing more positive reactions towards the movie, I eventually decided to give it a shot.

Life of Pi is one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen and while it doesn't have one of the strongest storylines, it's still enough to keep viewers entrolled and Suraj Sharma's performance as Pi makes it even more endering. The visual effects are outstanding and while the meaning behind the ending will never be completely resolved, it definately ranks among one of the smartest and bravest endings I've seen in years.

Doctor Who: The E-Space Trilogy (Full Circle / State of Decay / Warriors' Gate) [DVD]
Dvd ~ Tom Baker

4.0 out of 5 stars Goodbye to Romana and...err..hello Adric?, 1 Jan. 2015
The E-Space trilogy marked the final appearances of popular Doctor Who companion Romana and ironically the first appearances of one of the most unpopular companions in Adric. The boy genius type character was one that certainly didn't appeal to Doctor Who fans and his constant complaining certianly wasn't going to help matters. However, the E-Space trilogy while not amongst the greatest serials of the Tom Baker era are still three strong stories even if there's little connection between the three compared to the previous season-arc in The Key to Time.
