5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic product, 1 Feb 2010
I was previously using the Crystal Clear edition and was very happy with it. Apart from some issues with finger prints, the CC protector does a fine job. I decided to try the Matte Clear edition and do you know what? As much as I like the CC edition, this MC version is even better. Granted, the clarity is not quite as perfect as the CC, but it is still exceptional. You can tell the MC protector is on your screen, especially on a white background, but trust me when I say it is not at all a problem. Visibility is excellent and the anti-glare feature works very well indeed; no more having to adjust my viewing angle when sitting with my back to a window or other light source.

It will probably take you a short time to get used to the feel of the MC protector; the finish provides a very nice surface for swiping your finger over and it feels better than the CC protector in this respect as there is very little friction between your finger and the surface. This means your finger just glides over the screen regardless of the state of your hands (sweaty, dry, greasy - whatever).

Speaking of greasy fingers, the MC edition does a superb job of reducing finger prints. It is considerably better than the CC protector in this area and finger prints are virtually eliminated. Sure, it's not 100%, but the difference is significant, very obvious and highly preferable. In addition, the MC edition also seems to be very scratch resistant, which is nice. After speaking on your phone, any greasy residue or moisture from your face will wipe off easily without leaving any marks.

In summary, I think you need a very good reason NOT to get one of these protectors. The CC and MC editions are both good, but I would recommend the MC protector. I don't own the Privacy edition (yet!) but I would imagine the finish is the same as the MC protector with the added bonus of that cool privacy feature. Whatever version you opt for, just make sure you get one of them and you'll never look back again.

Chinese Astrology (Collins Gem)
Chinese Astrology (Collins Gem)
by Bernard Lodge
Edition: Paperback
Price: £4.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little book, 28 Feb 2009
Considering this is supposed to be an introduction to the Chinese zodiac, it is very detailed, easy to understand and a joy to read. Each sign has twenty pages dedicated to it and the book is full of tables, charts and illustrations, all in full colour. Colour-coded chapters also make browsing through the book that much easier. Its compact size (slighty larger than a deck of playing cards) means you can carry this book around with you and fascinate your friends and family with insights into their character and life in general. A superb introduction to the Chinese zodiac at an excellent price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent little book, 10 Dec 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I don't have much more to add that the other reviewers haven't already said. This lovely little book is really quite superb for a beginner like myself and goes into just the right amount of detail on card meanings. It is well written and easy to read. It may not be The Only Tarot Book You'll Ever Need, but it should definitely be in your collection, especially if you are a novice. The perfect little reference book and at this price you really cannot go wrong. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice deck, 29 Nov 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I already own the standard Universal Waite (UW) Tarot Deck and decided to purchase the pocket version as the size is more practical, especially if space is limited. The pocket UW is a very nice deck; the cards are a good size (about the same as bridge-sized playing cards) and if you have small hands you will find them easy to handle and shuffle. The finish is not as glossy as the standard UW, but the card stock is of satisfactory quality and fairly well cut. The colours are slightly darker, which gives a new perspective to the images and brings out certain details that may not be as noticeable on the standard deck. I also like the back design, which features a single gold star and some clouds. The pocket UW cards come in a very impressive, solid box that will take all but the most severe of punishments; if only other Tarot decks were similarly housed. The deck can be stored upright in its box and would look nice on a shelf. Overall, I am pleased with this deck and would recommend it as a practical, if slightly inferior quality, alternative deck that you can carry with you at all times.

Titania's Fortune Cards
Titania's Fortune Cards
by Titania Hardie
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £7.98

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, 11 Nov 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
You will receive a beautifully presented package containing the deck and a 96-page instruction book printed on high quality, glossy paper. The book alone is worth more than the price of this excellent little package. The cards are also very nice, but slightly too big for my liking; they also don't handle as well as other cards I have used and can be difficult to spread. But don't let that put you off; Titania's Fortune Cards are fantastic and great value for money. Highly recommended, especially for the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite superb, 7 Jan 2008

This review is from: Nocturnes (Hardcover)
I first read Nocturnes after borrowing it from the library and I loved it so much I decided to buy it. As far as I'm concerned, there is not a single dud story here - I enjoyed every single tale. Some are creepier than others, but all are fantastic. Amazon appear to be the only website that sell the hardback edition which, I was delighted to discover on delivery, is a first edition signed by the author!
