1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, unless you want to stay in the car, 24 Sep 2010
I bought this hoping it would provide a useful guide for own holiday in the Rhone Alps - this area is sadly lacking in decent lonely planet or rough guide coverage. My advice would be not to bother and to get local tourist information advice. There is such limited detail on the towns and sites that it's pretty useless - especially when it comes to finding somewhere to eat or stay. It's very difficult to just dip in and get the information on individual places because of the style - it tends to cover a large area in very dense text - usually in the form of an itinerary for a day or so of driving. If you actually want to get out and about and explore this area properly, as opposed to taking a few photos from the car window, don't bother with this guide.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ahead of its time, 18 Mar 2009
This review is from: An Electric Storm (Audio CD)
At times pschycadelic, sometimes a bit OTT, but absolutely fascinating and well ahead of its time. I don't think it's as musical as the USofA but well worth a listen if you're into psychedelia or early electronic music...fascinating sleeve notes too.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as they say..., 18 Mar 2009
This review is from: Welcome To Mali (Audio CD)
I thought Dimanche a Bamako was a great album and hoped this would be as good. I wasn't disappointed. Some interesting collaborations but still has that wonderful warmth that Bamako had. Perfect sunday morning listening.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nowhere near as funny as it should be, 13 Mar 2007
Now I'm a fan of hammer horror so I was all geared up for some amateur special effects and silly plot-lines...but this was a real disappointment. The plot is so slow and the dialogue so poor (or poorly subtitled) that even the great fancy dress costumes can't save it. All in all a bit too much like PowerRangers for my liking.

Stop-motion Filming and Performance: A Guide to Cameras, Lighting and Dramatic Techniques

2.0 out of 5 stars Misleading title, 25 Feb 2007
I already own a couple of books on this topic and bought this as the synopsis and title suggested it had a lot on the camera and lighting techniques. Disappointingly there was only a very short basic section on this. The chapters on movement are good but I already had this in other books so ended up returning the item.
