4.0 out of 5 stars Good ipad bag., 24 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The strap feels good, bit like seat belt material, and the buckles that attach it to the bag are all metal so it feels strong. In the main internal compartment there are 3 sections. 1 sections fits the ipad and has extra padding to protect said item, the other 2 sections are bigger as they don't have the extra padding. However, if you have you ipad in a case it will not fit in the padded section, it will fit in the other section though, so stil good Thinking of ripping out this padded bit. Anyway the rest of the bag has little zipped pockets all over the place (3 actually), and a few pouches, which would be useful for small things like headphones, keys, USB stick, money, tickets, passport etc, I like it..

Logitech Harmony 700 Advanced Universal Remote - Universal remote control - infrared (discontinued by manufacturer)
Logitech Harmony 700 Advanced Universal Remote - Universal remote control - infrared (discontinued by manufacturer)

5.0 out of 5 stars Experienced harmony user 3+ years, 9 Oct 2012
I've been using a harmony 700 remote now for over 3 years. It's brilliant. To configure the devices it connects via a USB and then uses a web browser application on your computer to let you pick your brand and model, top tip: note down which input each device uses eg hdmi 1or 2, and how each device is connected to eachother eg. to the TV or to the AVReciever( for when you have a surround sound system). You create a personal login to the web app, this is great because if you need to reprogram the remote all you need do is log in to your account from any computer and all your remotes and their settings are there. After adding your devices to your remote u can then select your one touch functions via a wizard Eg. Watch TV, the wizard asks how you would like to listen to audio, ie. from the TV or from your AV Reciever. With one touch the remote switches on the devices and selects the correct inputs (if its not working its probably because you have not configured the devices with the correct input settings eg. Scart/HDMI 1/hdmi 2, figure out what you need to do to get it working and then change the device settings and click update to refresh the remote. Disconnect the usb and youre ready to go. Another great feature is being able to programme sequences and then assign the sequence to a button. For example when I'm watching sky I have a button that takes me straight to the sky+ planner, and another button that toggles sky subtitles(for when the kids won't be quiet). It's really good! One more thing the remote only needs to be connected by usb when you select 'update' eg. You can change the settings, add devices, add button sequences etc all without the remote being attached, then when you're ready connect the remote to update all those changes. It take about 2 mins to update, bit slow but that's normal for programming remote controls in my experience.

Using the device is super easy, I 'hit watch TV' the av receiver comes on and is set the correct input/outputt, the tv comes on and is set to the correct input, the sky box comes on, brilliant, the volume control turns up the volume on the av receiver and the channel hopper controls the sky box, I want to watch a DVD, so hit watch movie, the sky box turns off, the DVD player turns on and the av receiver is set to the correct input/output, I'm done so I hit the power button, the tv turns off, the av receiver turns off and the DVD player turns off.

If something goes wrong like a device is not on because someone or something blocked the infrared signal when turning things on or off then just hit the 'help' button, this will initially attempt to turn all the devices on (or off), if it still doesn't work the wizard will step you through yes or no questions and fix the problem for example 'is the tv on?' Then it will try and fix it and ask 'is it on now?'

I have bought the control as a present for others and recommend it if you have more than 1 device to use regularly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works...., 21 Nov 2010
Not a lot you can say about it as it just works! I plugged it in, it worked, the network is a ton faster than when i had it on a 10/100MB hub. The lights at the front are useful, ie they are off if no device is connected, orange for ports operating at 100MB (because the device on the other end of the cable is only 100MB capable) and green for full gigabit connections..Greate value for money, think i paid about 17.00

1.0 out of 5 stars nice remote, but went faulty within a fortnight, 19 April 2010
4.5 stars for functionality.
-0.5 for no colour buttons, touch screen doesnt quite do it for me.
-0.5 for colour, deep black, kept losing the thing on the sofa, it looks nice but flourescent green would be better!
-3.5 for going faulty within 2 weeks!
-5 for Amazons returns process!
overall score: -5

Worked well, for a week, then the unit stopped charging, its takes proprietary rechargable batts. Tried everything to no avail. Have arranged for a return and refund, I cant take the risk of spending over a ton on a remote with seemingly longevity issues! Looking at cheaper cheerful alternatives.

Refund process with Amazon shambolic, waited in, DHL driver refused to take package, said it had wrong address on pre-printed amazon label. It didnt, Amazon have a new returns centre which DHL didnt know about, so bad comms between amazon and FHL. Amazon Cust Service told me to re-schedule another DHL collection. When i tried to do this via the email link, filled all my details in then clicked to be told 'cannot be processed as your job number has already been used', yeah i know! Phone Amazon back and they have arranged a city link collection for tomorrow!

Moral of the story to me seems to be get off your bum and go to a physical shop, this online business is literally a waste of time when things go wrong! At least when things go wrong you can just go back to the shop!

Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser
Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker with Raisin/Nut Dispenser

5.0 out of 5 stars I've Made Bread!, 23 Nov 2009
My first ever breadmaker, so I've nothing to compare it to, but even a complete novice like myself managed to create a decent loaf on the first attempt! Friends have said i will use this a few times and then it will sit in a cupboard forever more afterwards. But i really dont think so, there are so many baking recipes in the book that comes with it, plus the benefit of knowing exactly whats being put into your bread, i can see this thing paying for itself within a year!
