Bought this simply to add to my store of Ivor Cutler, who I like. Sure, this is kosher Cutler, but I find a discernible streak of what - nastiness, maybe even despair - in it, which is disappointing. Was he ill, having real personal troubles, at this time?

I can see the logic of his layout, reducing from large to small, but some of the text is a bit confused. OK, in fact interesting, to dip into as the mood takes.

Nice neat and whimsical with the usual twists and little surprises. Pitt is simply playing around, but is none the worse for that. The others are good, but then they should be. It's Coen so you expect a lot and I guess by and large you get it.

As it's Coen you expect a lot, and I guess you get it. More complex than you realise at first and you need to understand the milieu, but it's good. Probably worth viewing two or three times to get full value.

Given that we already have a Brit classic, this could have been a horror, but it's pretty good. Well produced, competent if a bit cliched acting, but it works.

Quaite naice, especially for those, like she for whom it was intended, who prefer understated to ostentatious. Pins maybe a bit long, tho'.

Top quality Coen Brothers output. Which usually means something well worth the time. Has great sense of place and period.

Not bad, well-organised text, but already starting to date, in fact a fair bit of it quite old - OK I suppose if it's still in currency Inevitable, really.

Not really up to the quality of the '80s TV version, but good enough. I mean, the good guys won, didn't they?
