5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable, 10 Sept. 2015

Great Plot. Couldn't put it down. The character of Kim Stoke evoked great sympathy and the reader sincerely hoped that Barney and David can bring some happiness to her tortured life.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother., 10 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The plot of this book was very good. However the whole reading experience was destroyed by the characters none of whom appeared to have any redeeming features. All of them apparently stank of either cigarettes or body odour and had questionable personal habits. The whole narrative was unsavoury to say the least.

4.0 out of 5 stars And don't we love it;, 24 Mar. 2015

Once again Lee Child provides a convoluted highly implausible plot with all the usual thrills and spills. And don't we love it;.

Price: £1.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Another exciting read, 27 July 2014

Action packed as expected from the Tom Gray series. Both story lines were absorbing. Like all the Tom Gray books the revenge element is disturbing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy is not the word to express for this read ..., 4 July 2014

This review is from: Burial Rites (Kindle Edition)
This story of the last woman to be executed in Iceland is a riveting insight into life in 19th century Iceland. It gives a bleak look into the poverty and living conditions of the time. Agnes Magnusdottir's story evokes a multitude of emotions- anger, pity, respect, despair, sadness. Enjoy is not the word to express for this read but it is a 'must'. It is bleak but insightful but somehow beautiful.

Never having read any of Alice Munro, I decided to investigate her writings after she was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. I really enjoyed this book of short stories which could be any from any community in any country because it is based on human nature its foibles and prejudices and constraints. I look forward to reading more of her work.

Tears of the Jaguar
Tears of the Jaguar
Price: £3.98

4.0 out of 5 stars A really good read., 19 Nov. 2013

Not just a thriller but a really interesting insight into the world of archaeology for a novice. The characters are believable and well drawn with one or two exceptions. The pace of the narrative keeps one anxious for the next step of the tale.

I loved this book. I bought it as a present for a twelve year old and read it before parting with it. Eoin Colfer is a very impressive children''s author. Must buy it again when I see it.
