5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, 24 Feb 2011
This review is from: Big Blue Dress (MP3 Download)
Darrowshire is a beautiful amazing song. It really is one of my favorite acoustic tracks i've heard in a long time. I don't normally buy MP3's online being more of a CD person but i'm glad I got this album

This review is from: Police Academy 1-7 [DVD] (DVD)
I'm a big Police Academy fan, but to be honest, only the first 3 movies are really good in my opinion. After that you can tell the actors are just doing it for the money.

But its worth the price for the first 3 i think

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, but comes with a few issues, 10 Nov 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
After queuing in the freezing cold for the Midnight Launch of Kinect at a high street retailer I got my hands on it and a selection of games. Took it home and set it up.

Now, installing it. It's easy, I did it half asleep at 1am without issue, that is until the size it requires. Ever since I started following this in E3 2009 I knew it needed a lot of space but I never realised exactly how much

You see, it says 6ft minimum, thats fine. But then you need 8ft minimum for 2 players, bit tight in our living room but its possible. However you find getting the camera to see both the tops of your heads and your feet at the same time can be tricky. I tried the camera below my TV and it worked generally okay, moved it onto a TrackIR stand ontop of my TV and it worked good but found if i walk a few paces towards the TV, the camera wouldn't be able to see the top of my head

I don't see this yet being a problem as for both me and my partner there is just about enough room for us both to play, true sometimes we have to lean backwards over the sofa in some games and/or parts of us go out of the cameras view causing us to fall out of sync with the game, but the real problem will be when we have people over. I mean, Kinect will/should shine when you have guests, right? Well when we have people over they will want to sit on our sofa, meaning falling over their legs causing drinks and food to be spilt and no doubt us landing on them backside first and putting us into an embarrasing position

It's not all doom and gloom mind. I only take away 1 star due to the above as it's more of a problem for Microsoft as it will limit who can use the device, in particular kids/teens wanting it in their bedrooms will most likely be out of luck

On a plus side, I think the price is reasonable(if they ensure good game support in the future and the device has a long life span). It does track quite well give or take(as per issues above). The games are very involving, i'm loving Kinect Sports right now, it's a great experience and the Wii really has tough competition.

Ah the Wii, of course the console Kinect gets compared to. Well I on a personal note prefer Kinect. It's more thrilling, interactive, engaging, better looking and has better multiplayer capabilities. It's more streamlined and does more than "sense motion". For example in dancing games and fitness games its easy to fool the Wii with the Wiimote, but with Kinect, it can see if your not doing it properly.

I highly recommend this item, but please measure your living room. Both length from the camera but also width. Ensuring you allow some extra for "elbow space"

Our living room from sensor to sofa edge is: 9ft 3 and width from wall to other sofa is: 6ft < I really wouldn't go any smaller than that as its really tight. I also disagree with people giving the item one star as they've found their living room/bedrooms to be too small, research before you buy. It's a camera obviously it will only have a limited range/viewing angle and i'm sure Microsoft will update the technology as and when

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant fun, i'm knackered now though, 10 Nov 2010

I went to the Kinect launch event last night and picked up Dance Central, Fitness Evolved and Kinect Sports. Well the latter kind of goes without saying as all motion sensor tech seems to be released with a sports game. However this game is much different

There are various sports included as well as mini games, you can play solo against the computer, online(with strangers or Live friends) or local with family and friends

I don't want to compare it to Wii Sports but that's what most people will be comparing it to and let's be honest, that's this games main rival.

So, what does this offer over Wii Sports?

1: It's really involving, particularly in my opinion the table tennis, it feels very real compared to hold a controller and pressing buttons
2: The game has been built really well, from the well made replys to the good AI of computer opponents
3: Fantastic online, i've played a few games with people online and it's really easy to do and fun
4: Good for multiplayer, more so than the Wii as anyone can drop in and out as they please and you can all earn acheivements(if you have logins etc)

What's bad?

Well, mostly if you have more than 1 person playing at once and don't have a large living room you may find sometimes you'll go out of view of the camera or your arm will, plus its possible to easily hit the other person

That's about it really, its a solid, varied game that works well

4.0 out of 5 stars Great drive, fantastic price. Only a few minor issues, 1 Nov 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I brought this drive as my 500GB SATAII 32MB Cache Western Digital Black drive was getting full.

It was as easy to install into the computer as any hard drive. Doesn't come with any cables or screws but like the other review I had spares.

The drive is a SATAIII 600 drive, you need a Sata600 motherboard to use the drives full 600mbps transfer rate, but it is backwards compatible with SATAII at 300mbps.

The drive is noiser than my 500GB Cavier Black but not so loud to cause a problem and my computer is on the desk next to me

Overal this is a great drive that has great performance especially if you have a motherboard that can take it to full speed, but even if not its future proof(for now at least)

***** The drive for me only showed 31MB in size to begin with ****

After having the drive into the computer I was going to format within Windows 7. However, it didn't show in Windows. I thought it may be as the drive isn't formatted etc

Computer Management in Windows 7 showed the drive as 31MB, i initialised the drive but to no avail. In bios it showed as 1025GB so I tried using my Windows 7 setup disk, sadly the drive still didn't show.

What you need to do is download Seagate's Seatools for DOS, burn to disk, boot to that disk and click at the top "use maximum drive size" or something to that affect, it will then make the drive the full 1TB.

The product loses 1 star due to that problem

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Drive!, 29 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this drive last year as my 120GB IDE drive was far too small for gaming not to mention slow.

Got this drive and never looked back.

Scores 5.7 for me on Windows 7. Quiet, robust and performs reasonably well. I say reasonably as there are now many drives that have a transfer rate of 600mbps and 64mb cache but you can pay almost double for them.

If you want performance and quality, this is a recommended drive and now i'm a "fanboy" of Western Digital hard drives(I used to like my Maxtor drives until I got this one)

I got 2 of these for my PS3 and V+ HD box and they are great. The picture quality is very good for the price, sure you could spend £30+ and get better quality but unless you have a high end set up(at which point you won't mind spending more money) these cables are great. They support HDMI v1.3

No artifacts or distortion and came well packaged and very quickly delivered. Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice pair of shoes, 23 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I really like these shoes

They are warm, comfy, they allow your feet to breathe

Only thing wrong with them, is lack of grip. Not a real problem at the moment but i'm not sure how they will cope in snow. But then again they aren't designed for that so i'll deduct no stars from the rating

If you want some nice comfy shoes then i recommend them. Had mine for about 8 months and not broken at all, yet.

This cereal is great! Really tasty and sugery.

It is quite expensive due to importing from America but it's worth it even to try this cereal, it's great. I ordered this and some other food from America and it arrived 2 days after ordering, very pleased
