5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading for Men and Boys, 20 Oct. 2015

This is an excellent book which clearly presents the challenges facing men of today. It is well written, researched and packed with facts - refreshing in the context of the wider gender debate, which is frequently plagued with loaded stats and false narratives.

The book is split into key issues facing the modern man and addresses them in a coherent way. You can tell the author is passionate about the issues, which I feel adds to the argument.

Overall this book is essential reading for any man or boy tired of hearing the one sided, feminist narrative on what it means to be a man and Gender Equality. A refreshing, informative and inspirational book!

2.0 out of 5 stars A good book ruined by feminist undertones, 13 May 2014

This is a good book for those struggling with alcohol addiction but it is quite clearly written by someone who has a problem with men.

In her introduction, the author apparently blames her many failed relationships and pressure to "keep up with the lads" as the main cause of her issues with alcohol. All of the cases/stories but one (which is a joint couples account) in the second half of the book are women stories and experiences. The author seems to blame the fact that some women drink too much alcohol on men.

Also, the author seems to exclusively focus on alcoholism in women as though it were something different from just plain old alcoholism - which afflicts both men and women equally.

I'd be more detailed but I'm writing this on my kindle so its awkward.
