British Rail Wagons: The First Half Million
British Rail Wagons: The First Half Million
by Don Rowland
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A great resource for modellers., 18 July 2014

If you need info on BR era freight rolling stock this is a pretty comprehensive book. Not onlt that. There is enough background detail in the photos of freight related railway infrastructure to really give the modeller a sense of what these places were like. A great read too if this is your interest.

A great read. OK, so these aren't the deepest books you are ever going to read but what they do is drag you along for the ride. I came across those books by accident and am hooked. These are fast paced sweeping fantasy adventures. Highly recommended.

I've read quite a few Star Trek books over the years. This one is right up there with the best. I honestly can't fault this. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most informative books on the subject I've come accross. There are Ex works, Diagrams and pictures of all the stock in service with very thorough descriptions, histories and numbering information.

I would recommend this book to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very thorough, 19 Dec 2013

If you are just about to start out in the hobby, this is probably going to be the book for you. This book is very thorough and tries to cover as many different types of kit available and how the modeller can get the best results from the kit and once confident in the basics, can go on to modify and upgrade the rolling stock kits to high standards.

I would have given the book 5 stars but I've been at kit building for a while and was hoping for a lot more detail. However, don't let this put you off. If you are just getting started, this book will hopefully give you the information you need to have the confidence to go on and build your own rolling stock kits. There is also a pretty comprehensive list of suppliers etc at the end of the book.

Well written and good illustrations / examples.

I did a lot of reseach before I bought this little amp. I can tell you that I'm over the moon with it. It does everything I want. It's plenty loud enough and is surprisingly versatile. You can coax just about any tone you want from it. Heavy Rock to clean, it does it all. Nothing but praise from sound man and bandmates alike. Love it!
