4.0 out of 5 stars bizzarely good, 2 Mar 2011
This review is from: Bunny & The Bull [DVD] (DVD)
i bought this because of the Boosh, i think it's weird how we were promised a Boosh film then this came out to confuse us. This really isn't about Boosh - and it's good that it isn't.

It's realllly low budget, the sets aren't real, there's no real effects - so if it's bells and whistles you're after then this isn't for you.

There's some really good acting in this, and a couple of funny moments, the chemistry between the characters is good and the storyline is great. It's cleverly put together and brilliantly explores Stephen's memories and what's going on inside his head. there's loads of special features with interviews with the main people, they explain what's going on and further expand on the story.

It's much darker than i was expecting, it's not a film to cheer you up, but it'll be a good addition to your dvd collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars very basic, good starter phone, 23 Feb 2011
my mum has this phone, she's in her 50's and a complete amature to technology, seriously if my mum can use this phone - anyone can. it didn't take her long to learn how to phone people, she's even texting now. I would reccomend this pfone for older people who want something simple to keep in touch with freinds & family.

As you can expect it has basically no extra features. the camera is 1.3megapixel and it's pretty rubbish quality, it takes photos and they're ok - just don't expect a lot from this.

it has a few cool games, basic quality but quite fun. The phone book has a good set up and is easy to use. My mum finds the buttons easy enough to use.

The menu's are typical of the older phones, my mum can use them fine but i find them slightly over-complicated, there seeems to be too much going on and it's not as polished as the newer phones, but it's ok to use. Text facility is good, as long as you're not a quick texter it's fine. When a key is pressed it highlights the options on screen to make it easier to text. For example if you wanted to type 'hello' you press the number 4 key and a 'pop-up' appears on screen displaying 'G H I 4'-the available options for that key, so you'd press 4 twice and the 'H' would be highlighted and appear in your message.

it's lasted about a year so far - and it's been dropped, used as a drumstick and chew-tested by a one year old :)

Overall it's a really good basic phone, but i wouldn't pay any more than £50 as it is so basic it should come with a price tag to reflect this.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best films i own!, 23 Feb 2011
i have to say i love this, it's fun, it's care-free, it's got it's comedy moments, it's escapism.

There's some really good acting in it, and although the storyline is a little tired, it's tastefully done with different strands of the story weaving together so you don't get bored.

The soundtrack is really good, (also available to buy on amazon for a decent price) some really catchy original songs and covers, it adds to the fun atmosphere and enjoyment of the film.

I've had a girls film night in many times including this dvd, and it goes down well every time, if you want to watch something to switch off and chill out - this is what you're looking for. enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars another fantastic series!, 22 Feb 2011
another essential dvd for your collection!

for series 2 the boosh boys are living in a flat with naboo and bollo, a seemingly tame environment compared to the zoo, but they always magange to find mayhem and adventure. This series is more surreal than the first, with the episodes starting in the tame and 'normal' surroundings of the flat, and ending up in magical places, sometimes on another planet!

This is just as funny, if not funnier than series 1, as the team 'find their feet' and have more experience of writing/acting, ther series comes across as more polished and rehersed than the first - and not at all in a bad way, it's still got the very down-to-earth, homemade feel that makes Boosh so unique.

And if you've never heard of these guys before, take a chance. If nothing else it's a few hours of a completely different sort of entertainment, Boosh is the sort of thing you have to watch a few epiosdes of to realise their humour is surreal and mad while still retaining the 'realness' it's a fabulous program that evryone should watch at least once!

I can't think of a single bad thing about this, only it might be a better idea to invest in the series 1&2 box set (black) or the complete series 1,2&3 box set (white)

Buy, watch, laugh, enjoy!! :)

3.0 out of 5 stars there's better out there, 22 Feb 2011
this was a christmas present i was rather disappointed with, there's much better bio's out there, this one feels tired and recycled, it's ok but nothing special. a good read for a few hours but it doesn't feel new or fresh.

Using the same formula and layout as other bio's it feels like it could have been about anybody, if you're a die-hard fan then this is a good addition to your catalogue, otherwise i'd advise to shop around.

4.0 out of 5 stars not fantastic, 22 Feb 2011
it's pretty good, good quality thick fabric, it's nice and snug and warm, really tight fitting!

I guess i was hoping for miricles from this product and it didn't quite live up to my expectations but it does it's job well, it does what it says on the tin, this is a good investment and handy to have in for parties and such, works well for every day wear if you can be bothered taking it on and off.

arrives in good packaging.

4.0 out of 5 stars be sensible, 22 Feb 2011
if you're going to buy something done by a comedian, you better make sure you actually like what they do first, it's common sense really, go look them up on youtube or something. It's no good buying something then slating it in a review - that's your own fault if you don't like it.

A lot of reviews seem to be from people who haven't had the rich fulcher experience before, a lot of people will dislike him as his humor is so american 'in-your-face' so look him up first before slating him.

Anyone who has actually bothered to see Rich Fulcher in action will find this true to his character,a funny read - and completely bonkers, a good couple of hours entertainment. I'd say this is a book for keeps, good to get out if you're having a bad day or you just haven't read it in a while.

1.0 out of 5 stars what is this ribbish?, 22 Feb 2011
first of all, if a film is based on a book and they change the name - you know they're out to destroy it.

I'm a fan of georgia nicolson series of books, they're funny, honest, easy to dip in and out of, really good easy-reading for teenagers.

So when the film came out i thought i'd give it a chance, i wish i stuck my head in the over for a couple of hours instead of watching this.

It's typical modern teen rubbish, doesn't follow the book at all, less about growing up and copming-of-age, more about fawning over a boy. totally cringe-worthy and sickening. I can't believe films like this are still being made.

The acting is like watching paint dry, the story is like watching grass grow. don't waste your money on this rubbish.

5.0 out of 5 stars funny and surreal, 21 Feb 2011
this is unlike any comedy you're seen before, it can be dark, it can be completely ridiculous. it mocks itself and socity while still managing to be believable. there are some really great characters in here and funny acting by all of the main cast. A great movie to have in for a dvd night for girls and guys.

the only bad thing i have to say about this is the dvd menu's weird and it's hard to select the option you want, other than that - perfect!
