High visibility rucksack / backpack Yellow
High visibility rucksack / backpack Yellow
Offered by TEAM SOUTH WEST Ltd.
Price: £11.99

2.0 out of 5 stars Year of use, 16 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have been using this backpack for a year now and have had to replace it due to holes appearing in the bottom. You get what you pay for with this item and its made from cheap material which started fraying after about a month of use, particularly on the shoulder straps. The reflective piping round the expandable section eventually split open as well.
Reasonably water proof but for motorcycle use the ends of the straps would flap in the wind against my jacket. Side pockets not much use as they have mesh at the bottom, and so whatever is inside will get wet, I never used them. The only redeeming feature of this pack is the fluorescent shoulder straps which unlike a lot of similar products, makes you visible from the front.
I was careful with the bag throughout the time I used it, and have had a number of backpacks over the years that are still useable even now. This however I barely got a year from it.
I have come to the conclusion that a decent backpack should cost at least £40 these days!

McLaren MP4-12C (McLaren Orange) (Resin model)
McLaren MP4-12C (McLaren Orange) (Resin model)
Offered by Fast Japan eu
Price: £105.56

5.0 out of 5 stars Well detailed little model, 29 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having driven one of these cars on a track day, in exactly the same colour, right down to the wheels, I just had to have this model. It is expensive for a 1/43 scale car but it is well detailed and made from resin which tends to be an expensive material for model making anyway. While you cant open the doors or boot, you can still see all the detail through the windows.
The model is attached to a nice black base with a metal information plaque about the car stuck to it, and a clear acrylic cover to keep the dust off it.
As you can imagine with the price, this is really for display purposes only and not suitable for a child to play with! The model can take a while to arrive, but it does ship from Japan and is well packaged.

5.0 out of 5 stars Home mechanic essential, 29 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this a while ago but only recently had to use it at any great length for a chain and sprocket change on my little 125cc motorbike. I already knew the torque range would be sufficient so it was just a case of checking how well it worked and how easy it was to change torque settings.
After tightening up a number of bolts to different settings I can say it feels solid, well made and the markings on the handle for adjustment are quite easy to figure out. It gives a satisfying click when you have achieved the correct tightness on a nut or bolt. The only slight annoyance is the handle can still rotate slightly even when its has supposedly been locked into position.
Comes in a nice red plastic storage container with accompanying calibration certificate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware of hazard perception, 12 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
To start with this is a good practice and revision aid for the multiple choice element of the motorcycle theory test. As they say, practice makes perfect and doing mock tests certainly helps with learning, mainly from getting wrong answers! The questions from my experience do actually crop up in the real test but differ slightly in some cases. For example when you are asked to identify which road sign means what, with this software you click on the corresponding tick box. In the real test you click on the actual sign. Some questions with this software require more than one answer, in the real test I only ever encountered one answer questions. With the case study that comes at the end of the multiple choice questions, in this package you could answer them without actually needing to read the case study. When it comes to the real test you will actually have to read the case study quite carefully to be able to answer the questions. Other than this the mock test has the look and feel of the real thing.
Onto the hazard perception section. Every mock test, and practice video I tried I was scoring well with no warning about clicking too much. So feeling confident I went into the real test expecting to do well. I was a bit shocked however when halfway through the 14 videos the DSA software said that my response to hazards in one of the video's was inappropriate, and I would therefore score zero for that video. Needless to say I was worrying through the rest of the video's that I might click too frequently on each hazard. After my test I tried this software out again, clicking with varying frequency during hazards, I have to say it took a great deal of clicking to get the software to say that I was acting inappropriately. Apart from this the hazard perception again looked very similar to the real thing, although the video quality was a bit poorer with brightness and contrast sometimes reducing detail, even after brightness had been reduced to minimum.
Included are a couple of useful ebook study aids, such as a pdf copy of the 2007 Highway Code which can be transferred to a tablet computer. This sofware can be updated but I think this is limited to a year after purchase.
In the end I passed the theory with good scores (49 out of 50 for multiple choice and 58 out of 75 for hazard perception), but I feel it would have gone so much better if the cheat detection on the software was made a bit stricter, as even if you are just clicking on hazards, it takes many more than are allowed in the real test for a score to not be counted.
With that in mind this is actually quite a good tool to get you through to the next stage of obtaining a full bike license.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stop damage to your patio door hinge caps, 3 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
To start with a warning. I ordered 2 of these on separate occasions and received 2 units with slightly different design. The one shown in the photo works well, however there is another design with pure white plastic parts and allen key operated grub screw in the plastic that moves along the aluminium runner. After a few days of opening and closing the door its attached to, with the screw set to give some frictional resistance, the metal screw rubbed against the bottom of the aluminium runner, eventually making a groove in it which stopped the smooth opening and closing of the door. So before you start attaching the one you have been sent, make sure the plastic parts are cream coloured with a flat head screw in the guide runner.
I would also suggest attaching the arm to the door frame first, 70mm from the corner as suggested in the supplied instructions. But then instead of fitting the runner in the door's groove, just slot it in and test the limits of the door opening and closing before committing and drilling holes into your door. As the suggested fitting distance from the inside edge of the door might not give the best range of door movement for you.
Be aware that to fit this you will need to drill holes into your door and the door's frame, which might be a bit off putting for some people. This item comes supplied with more than enough screws, just take care when selecting the correct drill bit, a 2mm diameter one seemed to work well for me.
Apart from these things to watch out for the right item works well, but since the dimensions of the runner and door frame attachment plate are different, I am going to have to find a way to modify the one that has rubbed a groove into its own runner.

Sealey CC75 Double Compartment Wash Bucket
Sealey CC75 Double Compartment Wash Bucket
Offered by Toolsave
Price: £14.80

3.0 out of 5 stars Double bucket technique using a single bucket, 11 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If like me you wash your vehicles using 2 buckets, one for wash solution and one for rinsing your wash mitt then this double compartment bucket is ideal. No more lugging 2 separate buckets about. It does mean however that the capacity of water that you take to the vehicle is greatly reduced, which will probably mean refilling as the water gets dirtier quicker. However if you are cleaning a motorbike then this is even more ideal.
Only other issue was mine didnt have any attached wheels, am not sure if this is an error in product description, or they are a separate piece that werent supplied with my bucket, but the photo on Amazon doesnt show the wheels in place either.
Other than these gripes a good item to add to your car/bike washing kit.

Used these in hand luggage when I went away for short break abroad. They didnt leak and had no problems getting through security checks with them. Well worth it to avoid hassle of wrong bottle size/types or not being visible by x-ray machine. Supplied bag even has space for other small items.

2.0 out of 5 stars Misleading product picture, 7 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First off, as part of my job I work in a lab so have quite a bit of experience using nitrile gloves like these. Judging by the product photo and price I decided to purchase some of these. After quite a bit of waiting for them to arrive, imagine my surprise on opening the box to find these werent the pale opaque blue as shown, but a darker shade blue of the see through gloves you see staff in Subways wearing! Not only that but the first glove I tried on ripped at the cuff, so not very robust, even though the size was as expected compared to what I usually use.
These were purchased to do mechanical maintenance on a motorcycle, but I think I will in future buy ones from Bodyguard (the make we have in our lab) which I only recently realised are available on Amazon. You might still be interested in these if you use gloves to prepare food at home, or other minor house chores!

3.0 out of 5 stars Short and kinda sweet, 7 May 2013

This review is from: As It Is On Earth (Audio CD)
After a long absence Spacehog are back with a new album. Not widely available in the UK I was expecting a long wait for this to arrive from Canada. However it arrived well within the time predicted by Amazon.
After the first listen I wasnt too impressed, and a little disappointed at the runtime, coming in at just over half an hour or so. After a few more listens it grows on you, a few of the tracks sound very much like their older stuff, particularly the last track on the album, Glad to Know, which is incidentally my favourite on this album. A lot of slow stuff here but if you like all their previous albums you should find somthing here you will like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vehicle owner must, 7 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I drive/ride a car and motorbike and so have quite a few documents I need to keep track of. Searching for a suitable folder I came upon this. It has a number of sleeves inside for MOT, registration, driving license (paper and photo card), insurance and service documents. There are 2 sleeves for each. There is also a handy pocket inside the back cover for small manuals, and inside the front cover are spaces for writing dates to remind you when MOT's, tax, service and insurance are due.
A handy purchase which could save you the hassle of document searching when selling your vehicles, renewing tax, MOT or insurance. Could also help prevent the loss of the paper counterpart to your license!
