Christopher Marley's photography of real insects is amazing. Insects are arranged into kaleidoscopic artworks which truly take one's breath away whilst others are photographed as single portraits. Each insect with its iridescent colours is a jewel in its own right. This is a beautiful book.

A well constructed short story in Alexander McCall-Smith's wonderfully gentle style. I enjoyed it very much but it left me wanting more. which I guess is how it should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous, inspirational book, 31 Dec. 2012

This book is truly a feast for the eyes. Mark Hearld is obviously passionate about his work, acknowledging artists who have inspired him. The book is full of colour with wonderful examples of Mark's collages, lithographs and linocuts. I love the way he is obviously inspired by the natural world. If you buy this book for a present, you will not want to give it away. It is beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent goldwork instruction book, 30 Dec. 2012

A well illustrated little book in a ring binding which means it stays open while you follow the instructions. Whilst it is always helpful to have a little knowledge, this book is still suitable for beginners with stitching experience in other fields. All the traditional techniques are beautifully explained with colour photographs and these these techniques are used to create some lovely contemporary and traditional pieces. I love goldwork for its rich heritage and find it inspiring that it can be adapted to contemporary designs.
