5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, some great guitar, 10 Sep 2014
Great fun, some great guitar, but, there is something that isn't right with the film's music information. Ry Cooder is in the cast list as "guitar coach", but, the music in the film is NOT by Ry Cooder, but another American called Arlen Roth, a very talented slide guitar player as well as other styles.
Steve Vai is brilliant as always, including the playing of the classical guitar parts at the "cutting heads" contest.
It was a shame at the time that the film company thought that the name "Ry Cooder" would sell the film to more people, because who has ever heard of Arlen Roth, even though then music was his!

Great to hear them at last, instead of hearing about them. Loved the album, some great ideas, a great guitar sound and some great songs. Highly recommended and a bargain price compared to the price of one of their cds!

The Wanderers Tale
The Wanderers Tale
by David Bilsborough
Edition: Unknown Binding

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun!, 27 Dec 2012
This review is from: The Wanderers Tale
What a highly imaginative, beautifully written take on any of the "fantasy quest" novels that have proliferated over the years. Very inventively realised characters and beasties and a lovely sense of humour throughout the hero's travails. I loved it and must get hold of the second book as soon as poss!

Great fun looking around this map with my namesakes village of Appleby, which I only saw on a Co-op Great Britain road map by chance because this particular Appleby isn't shown on any other maps!
Strange in that there aren't any public rights of way or footpaths, apart from one permissive path, on the whole map.

5.0 out of 5 stars True metal!, 16 Dec 2011
This review is from: Lord Of The Wasteland (Audio CD)
Great band, great album, great guitar, great voice and great songs in the true metal vein, I loved it! Apparently the word "great" dosen't count if I use it more than once.
