I wish I had bought one of thee years ago. It looks and behaves like cast iron but is strong enamel that cooked perfectly. I made a Texas Red chili with big chunks of steak in it and I could not believe how easy the meat browned and sealed on a low heat. The dish then had liquid added and simmered away on a low heat and again the pot was great. Nothing stuck or caught on the bottom.
This book has lots of recipes that actually work. The picture on the cover alone is well worth a look to transport you back to simpler times when people kept a budget, ate well and produced tasty meals. This book is particularly apt in today's austerity times. Mary makes everything simple and possible. Ignore celebrity chefs and follow good home cooks.
