A collection of sermons on Daniel 1-6, each chapter being a sermon on the corresponding chapter in Daniel. The sermons are Biblical and challenging with good illustrations. Good to see how you could craft a sermon from the text. Best used alongside a commentary if you are studying the book of Daniel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good intro to thinking about faith and politics, 29 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Short and witty an excellent book on the vexed subject of the role of faith in American politics. Provides a good frame work for assessing how Christians should think about who they vote for and why, do they resort to default positions or do they biblical assess each candidate? Read and be challenged.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here I stand Calvin style!, 1 Aug 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Calvin (Paperback)
Bainton's work on Martin Luther "Here I stand" has been cited as the definite biography. I am not sure if we can say Gordon has given us the definitive biography, however he is not far off. Gordon has an excellent knowledge of the Swiss reformation (read his book on it) and he weaves facts, movements and narrative superbly to give us an enjoyable account of Calvin's life.
