Forget Dyson, this is it!, 9 Jun 2013
I have been looking for a new vacuum cleaner for a year but did not want to pay the Dyson price and now I am glad I waited. I actually bought this item in Spain for 120 euros from a "slightly marked" shop. It came with 2 pet attachments which are brilliant (I have 4 dogs and 2 cats). The suction is amazing, the machine glides easily, changes easily from floor to carpet by a large button, attachments are easy to change, it has an extra long cord which is self winding with the touch of a button, it is lightweight for lifting, but what I like the most is how easy it is to empty, one click, pull out the container and empty then one click back. Easy to rinse out too.

Love them but a word of advice, 2 Jun 2013
Beautiful mugs, just what I wanted. I found 2 of these whilst shopping in Scotland and wanted to add 4 more. Very delicate china but hardy enough for the dishwasher and microwave. A word of warning, I left black coffee in one during the day and a little of it seeped into the china and I cannot remove it. Possible a faulty mug. I would order again though.

A good old fashioned read., 2 Feb 2013
I love this book, well written and funny and the author has the children's narrative down to a tee, you can actually hear them speaking the lines. I love the grouchy old man and feel for the poor nanny (everyone knows that there are people out there who treat their nannies in this way). I love the snobbery of two of the characters and I even love the cat. I disagree that this is a book for men or younger adults I just don't think they would get into the feel of it. Yes there are a lot of characters in it but eventually you get so into it that you know who they are. I think I just might read it again.

Nostalgia at it's best, 2 Feb 2013
I loved this book and loved traveling back in time with the narrator. I like the main person Michael telling the story, he writes honestly and shows his vulnerability whilst growing up. So many fond memories were revived. I loved Father Tim, a gentle soul. Superbly written, nostalgic, funny, sad, everything you need in a good read. The ending left you complete. I will certainly look for more by this author.

A winner again, 25 Jan 2013
Reading a Maeve Binchy book is like having tea with an old friend. A week in winter is up there with the rest of them. I love her characters in this one, they are all different but somehow they all come together and form a friendship for the week. Maeve Binchy is a huge loss to the literary society, I will certainly miss her writing. Thank you Maeve for the years of pleasure you gave to your readers.

Jolly good fun, 16 Jan 2013
I love Rafaella Barker's writing and am always excited when a new one is released. She writes with such originality and you sympathise with the trials and tribulations her character goes through. You feel as if you know them and can laugh and cry with them. Well done Rafaella, can't wait for the next one.

Predictable storyline, 16 Jan 2013
I was looking forward to reading this book thinking it was about Christmas but the only time Christmas is mentioned is at the end. The story was predictable, unoriginal and not very exciting. I finished the book as I always do as I think one should read to the end to give a valued opinion. This may appeal to a younger audience (20's) but for me it lacked excitement. I enjoy books by Tricia Ashley (The Magic of Christmas) and this writer does not compare but I think in time she will probably grow and hopefully do better.

Love this book, it's beautifully illustrated and easy to follow. I love baking but wanted to further my experience and this will certainly help.

Dissapointed, 20 Nov 2011
I agree with the reviewer catmac, it was not what I expected after all the hype. While the writing was good and I read it all, I also kept wanting something more exciting to happen. I like books about life but this one is not for me.
