I admit that I was somewhat sceptical, prior to buying this film, because I wasn't entirely certain that it would be anything other than a re-run of other, similar titles, with clichés and the typical happy endings. However, I was mistaken and, as the film developed, I found myself captivated.

Undoubtedly, there was a feel of nostalgia and old-English charm, woven deeply into the fabric of the stories of a children's hospital. The stories are believable, but there is the slight feeling of "everything will turn out alright in the end". The staff are all terribly English and appear perfect in every respect. However, let me not be over cynical; it is a film and very much reflects the times and it is also uplifting for anyone whose children were in hospital at the time. How delightfully innocent times were, when a young boy could cycle into the beautiful grounds of this hospital, run to the bedside of his twin brother, who was due to have an Appendectomy the next day, and be allowed to stay with him. How good to see that the film wasn't so predictable and that the correct twin was operated on. I was pleased about that.

I admit, I was surprised to see Sir Anthony Quayle in the part of the senior surgeon, playing alongside Sylvia Syms. I kept wondering if one of them would dash out to "Kat1e", only to find one of its springs broken, covered in sand.

Overall, I felt more drawn into the film, as it progressed, finding that it wasn't predictable and there was an overall tone of reality mixed in with the almost dream-like qualities. If only all hospitals were like that.

The film was mainly shot at what was Seafield Children's Hospital, Ayr, in Scotland. Unfortunately, as happens so often with these places, it was badly neglected and run-down, becoming no more than a shell, after a number of fires. The last I could find of it it had been spared the wrecker's ball, but was awaiting redevelopment into flats and a housing estate. No longer will any little boy or girl cycle up to the doors of a lovely old building. Modern hospitals are all plastic, white walls, strict rules and policies that chuck people out as soon as practically possible.

Definitely worth watching - at the very least once.

Very disappointed. After just over one year, the drive packed up. Fortunately, I had backed up my data. I'm returning it under warranty (this, in itself, is a performance - you have to sign up [and probably then be put on some spam mailing list] to log in to their site, to request a RMA). I'm not impressed with WD and certainly not these drives. I have 3 others and am waiting for them to fail, too.

At long last, this charming film has been released on DVD. A good print, although slightly dark in places. The soundtrack is also excellent quality.

Set in 1950s England, the scenery, cast and story compliment each other well.

Cecil Parker, as usual, does himself proud, as the manufacturer of aircraft, battling to convince an American multi-millionaire (Alan Hale Jr.), to buy his latest aircraft, in spite of the designer's (Jack Hopkins - played by Michael Craig) predilection for a very fine piece of English history - a Traction Engine named "The Iron Maiden".

Jack's unfortunate passion for the traction engine almost immediately leads to trouble with the American family, when they arrive to view the aeroplane and they find themselves thrust together somewhat prematurely. What starts out as a disaster, gradually turns into a love-story, both for the girl (Anne Helm) and The Iron Maiden.

The American cast portray humour and an outlook only known across the water, which comes across as extremely witty, without being degrading. After so many mishaps, The Iron Maiden finally captures the imagination of the American millionaire and leads to the successful sale of the aircraft, as well as the "giving away" of his pretty, yet determined daughter.

Watch out for Jim Dale; it isn't a large part, but, as ever, he makes the character. It is a timeless classic. Climb aboard The Iron Maiden, but watch out for The Admiral (Noel Purcell) ("Pray, vicar, pray!"). Even Joan Sims manages a "bit part".

A portrait of a happier England and a charming film.

I think it noteworthy to say that (IMHO) the film is "held" by a great performance by a very young Melvyn Hayes. He is not given as much credit as I feel he deserves. It is his character that provides the real "meat" on the bones of this story, about the harsh life of poverty and deprivation, after WWII.

The whole film has an atmosphere of poverty, desperation and hopelessness. I am pleased to have a copy in my collection.

With a fine cast and superb settings, the story, albeit well-known, is watchable. Two young lovers, thwarted by the girl's overbearing mother, decide that the only course of action open to them, is to elope to Scotland and marry. I enjoyed the relaxed feel of the film, with just the right amount of wit. Very English, with superb locations, I found myself wishing I, too, could drive to Scotland, on empty roads, in a "Tin Lizzie". It isn't a "great" film, but it is enjoyable, even if just to remind us of how life was, before the motorways, huge towns and cities, and an increasing population.

The print is of good quality, as is the soundtrack.

The instructions are an extremely poor, computer translation. Thus, don't expect too much help. It took me over 7 hours to set this up (and I am no stranger to IT). The instructions aren't very clear. Firstly, there is no software. You will have to download this from the manufacturer's website and navigate Chinese with English subtitles. The software, itself, is amateurish. You will have to run it as administrator, under Windows 7. It doesn't work on XP. You will also have to download a plug-in for your browser, which is also a nuisance. There is no MAC address on the product, so you can't use that to assign an IP address under DHCP at first. You'll have to use the appalling WANSCAM software. Firstly, connect the camera to your router/switch (whichever you have) or your computer. The IP address will be 192.168.1.x. This can depend on your camera and it may also change, if you use the reset button (as will the camera name).

Once connected, attach the power and use the software. This should detect your camera. The software isn't at all friendly. Once detected, you will have to manually add it in the software (this will become clear, once you start using it). However, that is where your problems start. It will pick up an IP address from your DHCP server/router. It will not allow you to enter one manually at this point. It is very much designed to be completely automated, which is all well and good, but if you conceal the SSID of your wireless system, for security reasons, it won't work wirelessly. Let it assign an IP address for you and make a note of it. Remember that this may change, depending on the lease time of your DHCP system. When you have the camera on the WANSCAM software, try to connect to it using your browser. This is the next tricky part. Open a browser (IE for example) and navigate to http://192.168.1.x:81 (the camera uses IP port 81 as default). You will then have to download the OCX components. At the top of the browser, on the right hand side, there is a field for OCX Download). You'll have to be connected to the Internet. Download and install it. Then set your browser to allow the control on that page (a pop-up should appear). Once you have installed this, it should work and you'll be able to start using the camera using a cable. In order to use it wirelessly, you must firstly ensure your WIFI router/device is not concealing its SSID. Once the camera has recognised it, you may then conceal it again, if you wish. You will then have to power off the camera, remove the network cable and switch back on, then wait. Allow it to reset itself and hopefully (fingers crossed) it will work. However, you may have to use the WANSCAM software again, in order to determine the IP address.

Things to bear in mind:-

The dialogue and instructions are a very poor translation into English. You'll have to "read between the lines". Using the browser, you will be able to see the MAC addresses, so you can use your DHCP system to automatically assign an IP address, if you wish, but this is not guaranteed to work! You can set the IP address manually, but this, too, can be extremely difficult.

To determine that everything is working, make sure that the WANSCAM software shows the IP address assigned (if it is blank, you'll not be able to enter it at that time and you won't be able to enter it manually; it won't be remembered.)

If you switch the camera off and use it through a cable, to reconfigure, you will have to go through the WIFI recognition again (as described above), if you conceal your WIFI SSID.

The wireless range is quite good, but it works best if there is a clear(ish) line of sight, between the WAP and the camera. The camera is also quite robust, so a few knocks (whilst to be avoided) shouldn't cause it too much of a problem.

The picture quality isn't bad. The infra red is also quite good. The movement can be a little sluggish, but persist and it will work. Persistence is essential as is a lot of patience. I nearly gave up. For the "amateur", I'd exercise caution and get some proper advice. It may leave your nerves in tatters!

One last point. The power adapter only has about 3ft of cable. That is fine, if you happen to have power within 3ft of where you intend to site the camera. I do wonder why companies scrimp on a few feet (or metres, if you prefer) of cheap cable. It makes it that much more difficult to site the thing!

I have had these shoes for under a year. I used them during the summer months in dry weather, across country terrain. I went to use them today for the first time this year. Within about a mile, I found my left heel was rubbing and was uncomfortable. When I took the shoes off, I found the lining of the heel of the left shoe was worn down, exposing the hard plastic behind. This was the cause of the problem. However, when I checked the right shoe, I found it to be of a different manufacture. The heel was relatively soft, with no hard plastic. Unfortunately, though, the sole had cracked where it meets the fabric and the stitching of the fabric, itself, was coming unstitched. As a result of this, I regret that I cannot recommend this product.

I have mixed feelings about this film. It is different, although I could not help feeling that it was just a little too "tongue in cheek" to be taken seriously. The plot is a well-worn story, although quite frankly, because of the fun and frolics, it is a little difficult to keep sight of it. I do like Gordon Harker, although there were times in the film when I could cheerfully have strangled him (and I do not mean this to be taken literally). In times when the story requires the characters to be silent, he starts ranting on about his Corned Beef; how they weren't discovered, I do not know, because he was almost shouting at the top of his voice. That tended to detract from the supposedly serious nature of the predicament the "goodies" found themselves in.

It doesn't work quite as well as films such as "The Runaway Bus", which managed to mix levity with a serious plot. However, this being said, I did enjoy the film. I would not rate it as in my top 100, but I shall be watching it again.

The picture and sound quality are both very good. An excellent story right from the outset, with Jack Warner playing a superb lead role as the competent, although somewhat surly, police inspector. Excellent locations, especially around Brighton and a story that has suspense, skill and surprise almost from the outset. Definitely a film I shall be watching quite regularly. I did feel "held" by the whole film.

A murder at a remote bungalow, just outside Brighton. A woman came to a sticky end and the police must find the murderer, from precious few clues. They cannot even be certain of the identity of the deceased, so it means lots of detective work from the very outset.

An absolutely first class film.

The print and soundtrack are both excellent. A very good film, with superb performances by all, especially Bernard Lee (who is very realistic in the scenes where he has to play being inebriated). It is interesting to compare how difficult espionage would have been, without all the modern technology and communications devices we have nowadays. Excellent film locations and sets, quite a fast moving story and very interesting.
