5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Douglas Brodie story, 12 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Having read the other Gordon Ferris books this one certainly did not disapoint, if anything the author has even improved (didn't think that was possible!). You will not be disapointed if you are a fan of Douglas Brodie and Gordon Ferris (if not then get reading his books). Great story, great characters, plenty of twists and turns, very hard to put down once you get into the book. Hoping for more........

5.0 out of 5 stars Rankin and Rebus at their best, 18 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great read, Rankin and Rebus at their best as Rebus's murky past theratens to catch up with him. Inspired to Link Rebus with Malcom Fox as well as the new relationship as subordinate to Siobhan Clarke. Much better than the previous Rebus return 'Standing in another man's grave' in my opinion. Plently to get the mind working and some good twists. Recommended for all Rebus fans, Rebus is back!

Great product, delivered quickly. A litle fiddly to put together, but overall quality good and does the job well, great value for the money.

The Old Man and the Wasteland

5.0 out of 5 stars Another world, 19 Mar 2012
A really engaging book that will take you to 'another world'. I've not read much of the Post-Apocalyptic genre, but if they are all as good as this I will read more. Centred on the journey of the 'old man' of the title, this is a story of discovery and the resilience of the human spirit. A very satisfying ending, which I won't spoil by telling of it here!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait?, 7 July 2011
Eight years is a long time to wait, (thankfully I've had Gillian's other 4 CDs plus loads of videos on YouTube to meet my craving!!), but was the wait worth it? On first listening I wasn't sure, but this one sure grows on you, and the stark simplicity of Gillian's and David's voices with minimal backing of guitar/banjo and occasional harmonica is surely 'pure Welsh'. I'm sure that this CD will become as familiar and addictive as the others (particularly Revival - still my favourite) - "thank you" Gillian and David for this unique offering. All we need now is for you to visit the UK again soon........
