1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY for use on an AEROPLANE! Also poor quality, died completely after a few uses., 29 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are totally useless for use on a plane. They were ok normally, but my daughter complained she couldn't hear anything with them on the plane. I thought there was something wrong with her device, but after pushing them hard into my ears it became obvious that there was just not enough volume available from them to be useable for the plane.

A couple of weeks after that plane journey she tried them again at home and they had died completely after no more than 5 uses.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just not as good as the hype. Makes an average cafetiere type coffee., 29 Dec. 2015
After reading all the glowing reviews I was extremely intrigued and bought one for a week long trip away where I knew good coffee was going to be infrequent. It worked fine for that purpose in having access to freshly brewed coffee where all that was on offer otherwise was a single sachet packet of instant.

It makes a reasonably strong coffee, but nothing that tastes better than your average cafetiere. I've tried so many different techniques, reading around, watching the youtube videos, different types of coffee, amounts etc. but nothing can make this thing deliver on what is supposedly the best coffee in the world. It is nowhere near a proper pressurised pump espresso machine. I can only think that people are caught up in the hype, unless there is some magical way of making coffee with it that I've yet to figure out, but I'm pretty sure I tried them all!

Not the end of the world, but just to note that you get no crema from this device.

On a positive note, it is very easy to use and to clean up when you're travelling.

Would I bother packing it, and the accessories and a pack of ground coffee in my bag for a trip again? I doubt it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good dog bed, just beware of measurements. Ordered the 50cm version, but that's only 40cm internally!, 30 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A nice bed, which is better than most of the cheap plastic ones around and a great price, but beware of size. I ordered the 50cm version, which I had (wrongly) assumed would be the internal dimensions as that would make more sense when measuring your dog for a bed! It turns out that because of the shape of the bed that it is only actually around 40cm internally. I should have read the description more carefully as it is only stated at the very end right down the page. The small version is really only suitable for tiny dogs!

It is a good bed though, so I've re-ordered a larger version!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic high quality striplight, 4 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a high quality striplight from Profoto. After years of buying cheap softboxes to save money and (mostly) being disappointed I finally went and bought the real deal.

To be clear from the start, Profoto softboxes are supplied as asoftbox only, you need to buy the appropriate speedring adapter, which is not how most manufacturers do things, but it does make buying additional Profoto softboxes cheaper as you can re-use the speedring, which by the way is probably the most solid and well made speedring I've ever had! Just because they do it this way doesn't make the softbox bad, you simply need to be aware of it when buying.

The large recessed front makes for great light control and means the suitable Profoto grid is very deep with a wide velcro band which not hold holds the thing in place very well, but won't rip from the seams as others I've had have done.

Light quality is excellent and I use this softbox for pretty much all my shoots, it had been dragged around, put up and down many many times and still looks like new.

The 30x90 is mostly suitable for 3/4 shots, although I've used it for full-length shots with some creative adjustments to the diffusion panels. I much prefer the velcro'd internal diffusion panel to the metal hooks, which always seem to end up breaking or damaging the fabric. It is worth investing in the grid for this softbox as it adds a new dimension to it and allows for more creative use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic little device to add something a bit different, 4 Jan. 2015
I shoot with the Fujifilm X-Series cameras, which does add a different dimension to this little Instax printer because you can print directly from a number of their cameras (X-T1, X-M1, XQ1, X30, X100T) rather than having to go through a mobile device to print. I use it all the time for both professional shoots (to hand out as instant souvenirs) and family events - everyone loves it. The prints aren't super sharp amazing, but were instant prints ever like that? Should we expect professional level prints, no! The appeal is in watching people as their images come up and having something to carry away and put in their wallet for later. The size is just perfect for that. You can get small 6x4 printers, but that size doesn't have quite the same appeal, I've had so many comments from people on how much they love the credit card size prints because they can carry them around with them - better to have something that people will love and share all the time than a larger photo that gets lost in a draw.

Prior to this I had the Fujifilm Neo Mini 90 Instax camera, ant although it's great, the limitation of only getting one print can be frustrating as several people might like the same photo, which either means everyone posing in the exact same position whilst you fire several off (near impossible!) or having to limit prints to one and everyone gets a different shot. With the SP-1 you can print out as many as you like of that favourite shot.

I shoot mainly in B&W and it produces good images with very little colour cast. It is useful to give images a boost of contrast before printing to help their look for the Instax film. Light areas can look a bit flat and detail-less so something to be aware of when shooting if you intend to print to the SP-1. If you are printing from a phone or tablet, then a few seconds spent editing the photo can be worth the time to get the best out of the print. Most of my images are printed straight from the camera however and I've yet to have any complaints, even if as a photographer, I may be able to see areas of improvement, that is mostly lost on people who are just happy to have a nice instant print of a moment in time.

If the Instax Mini film could come down to more like 50p per shot then it would be even better. Prices on Amazon seem to have gone up from about 60p per shot when I started with the Neo 90 to as much as £1 per shot at times, but varies seemingly day by day, so it is worth checking regularly and buying in bulk when it is cheap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive, but very good quality and worth the price., 19 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Expensive, but very good quality item. Love the colour coding that allows you to really easily make up your RFi soft boxes. I've also used this on other 3rd party soft boxes very effectively.

Have bought cheaper 3rd party versions and been disappointed, definitely worth getting the genuine model.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted all of a couple of hours before they became useless and never charged enough again., 19 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had enough charge in the battery to last for a couple of hours when they arrived.

Despite a bright sunny day the next day, the never did recover enough charge to work beyond a few minutes.

Seem to have a fault in the solar panel circuit (not uncommon in poor quality items) whereby the electronics haven't been designed properly and discharge the batteries back through the solar panel when it's dark!

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY! Do not work correctly, unsafe and dangerous., 19 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Terrible. Can I give it zero stars?!

Caused the trackpad to go crazy and you get electric shocks from the case when it's plugged in. Thought it was the MacBook until I used another original charger, so definitely the fault of this poor quality charger.

Stopped using it asap before it causes permanent damage to the laptop and ordered an genuine Apple model as I should have done in the first place!

Tried to contact the company selling them and they just ignored me completely when I asked for a return.

2.0 out of 5 stars Softbox good, Profoto fitting absolutely awful!, 26 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The softbox itself is not bad and good value, but the connection to the Profoto heads is absolutely awful. Unlike the traditional Profoto connection of a rubber fitting and a cammed lock, this uses a metal fitting and a screw. First problem with this is that the metal scrapes onto your head and has the serious potential to damage the head, and secondly, the screw, although it is knurled, is almost impossible to tighten by hand so you have to do it with pliers, which is just not practical.
