5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Follow Up, 12 Jun 2006
This review is from: Under the Iron Sea (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic album to follow the original.

1. Atlantic 4/5 - Fantasticly haunting.

2. Is It Any Wonder? - 5/5 Fast paced and addictive, almost the opposite of 'Atlantic'

3. Nothing In My Way - 5/5 Great song with great backing lyrics

4. Leaving So Soon - 4/5 The song most like 'Is It Any Wonder'

5. A Bad Dream - 5/5 Amazing, Keane at their Best

6. Hamburg Song - 3/5 The weakest song on the album, but still a good song nonetheless

7. Put It Behind You - 4/5 Catchy, more poppy than the rest

8. The Iron Sea - 4/5 Instrumental, demonstrates Rice Oxleys keyboard skills

9. Crystal Ball - 5/5 Fantastically Cheesy lyrics, great tune

10. Try Again - 4/5 Good slower song

11. Broken Toy - 4/5 Again, good slower song, bit like Atlantic

12. The Frog Prince - 5/5 Great end to a great album

This is without a doubt one of the best debut albums ever. Every song is great, and although I don't nesecarily agree with their left wing ideas, the lyrics and music is fantastic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not As Good as The first, but still great, 10 Jun 2006
Some great songs on here, not as many as 'Rage Against the Machine' but still some good stuff.

Particularly like 'Mic Check', unusual and innovative.

A more mellow effort from the Chilis, disk one is better than disk two in my opinion, as after listening to both it feels like I've just run a marathon.

Some great songs on both however.

I first saw them support Duran Duran back in December, an they were good. The final polished album sounds good, Happiness probably being my favourite song overall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, 17 May 2006
This review is from: The Singles (Audio CD)
This is a great album, from the classic anthems such as 'Just a Day', and the amazing 'Seven Days In The Sun' to the newer more quiet anthemic songs like 'Feeling A Moment' and 'Tumble and Fall'.

Fantastic, although if you own the albums theres not really much point in getting it, unless you don't want to have to change disks for all the best songs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking, 17 May 2006
This review is from: Broken Boy Soldiers (Audio CD)
This album is actually incredibly good. I heard Steady as She Goes, and immediately wanted to get the album, and when I got it I was surprised the rest of the album isn't really like steady as she goes at all - its all very different. From 'retro rock' style songs like 'Broken Boy Solider' (in my opinion the best song on the album, and I don't usually like that kind of thing) to slower, more melodic songs like 'Together' the album varies greatly.

A highly recommended buy, it's somthing different to all the other music around at the moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars FFAF, 23 Mar 2006
This review is from: Hours (Audio CD)
Well, I've had this a while - since before the whole 'emo' thing started (kids pretending to be sad and listening to 'Taking Back Sunday' or 'Bullet for my Valentine'
However...
FFAF isn't like that - at all. Sure, its listened to by 'emo' kids, but its more great rock than anything. The lyrics are also clever - and I'm not talking Arctic Monkeys 'streetwise and clever' here either - the lyrics are actually really clever.
For Example:
In History one of the lines is:
'Archers in Your Arches/Raise Your fingers for one last salute'
In medieval times, when the English fought the French, there were obviously archers. When the French captured an archer, they would cut his first and middle fingers off. The English taunted the French by giving them the infamous 'V' sign.
Now thats clever lyrics.

Great, like every other single they've done! I hope they get the credit they deserve this year, and not the sort of ridiculous hype the Arctic Monkeys have recieved.
