5.0 out of 5 stars A Performance Of Epic(a) Proportion......, 12 Nov 2013
Retrospect is one of the few. It is a live collection that not only embodies the energy and elegance of Epica's studio albums, but the sheer scale and majesty of the collection makes it something altogether far more special. Whether it is on the DVD or CD, Epica's performance is truly something to behold. The seventy piece orchestra accompanying Epica on stage for their 10th anniversary performance transforms Epica's unique strain of Dutch Symphonic-Metal, into an trance-inducing and almost religiously encapsulating display of divinity. The musicianship is tight and faultless, while frontwomen Simone Simons seems to effortlessly define the meaning of true talent, with a vocal performance most worthy of the immortalisation of this collection. This is not a collection for those in search of brutal Scandinavian Metal, but it is also not a collection entirely for the die-hard Epica fans. To enjoy Retrospect, all you need is an appreciation of Metal-Music and a CD player. Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars They are called FleshGOD for a reason............, 22 Aug 2013
This review is from: Labyrinth (Audio CD)
If you enjoyed Fleshgod Apocalypse's first 2 albums, then you will definitely enjoy the 3rd. Labyrinth is a blistering performance of musical mastery. Filled with barbaric riffing, a distinctive combination of Death-metal growls and clean sung female vocals, machine-gun drumming and rolling bass. Not forgetting the plethora of incredible orchestral and instrumental effects. Tracks like "Minotaur (The Wrath Of Poseidon)" and the pulverizing "Pathfinder", are not just breathtaking tracks, even by Fleshgod's standards, but they future classics in the flesh. If you're a fan of Death-Metal, Tech-Death or even just heavy music in general, then Labyrinth is the album for you. Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tracing Back Roots.......Bloody Roots...., 23 July 2013
This review is from: Tracing Back Roots (Audio CD)
First of all, Metal-Core isn't everyone's cup of tea, but here We Came As Romans do a pretty good job of convincing you that it is. Tracing Back Roots is loaded with all the genre defining blast-beats and clean-sung choruses you can possibly need. After the barrage of the opening title track "Tracing Back Roots" and following tracks "Fade Away" and "I Survive", you get the feeling that this is an album and a band that are going to go far, Especially with songs as good as these. This album is perfect for fan of Devil Sold His Soul, Architects and Motionless In White, as well as fans of good music everywhere. Worth every penny! \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars This album will make you mosh so hard you really will have a Halo Of Blood!, 13 Jun 2013
This review is from: Halo of Blood (Audio CD)
Finland's finest never really disappoint with their releases, but Halo Of Blood is in a level of its own. This album houses some of the best songs of Bodom's entire career. From the undeniably Bodom opening track, "Waste Of Skin", to the uncharacteristically slow pace of, "Dead Man's Hand On You", there is not a single disappointment on this album. Its entirely brutal and completely beautiful. Every track on Halo Of Blood is an entity of its own. The title track is laden with Emperor friendly, Black-Metal riffs. Meanwhile, "Damaged Beyond Repair", displays blast-beat style riffs, resulting in a song destined for mosh-pit stardom. If your a fan of Children Of Bodom, you NEED this album. If your a fan of Metal in general, then you NEED this album. Worth every penny!!! \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars Are Battle Beast "Over The Top" or just "Out Of Control"?...., 22 May 2013
This review is from: Battle Beast (Audio CD)
If you love Sabaton, Helloween, or even Judas Priest, then you'll love Battle Beast! The riffs are in a huge abundance, the solos are blistering, the keyboards are atmospherically powerful and the vocals are window-shatteringly brilliant. Battle Beast really is an incredible album. To less educated ears it could sound a bit generic or cheesy, but thinking that would be a serious discredit to Battle Beast. Songs like "Out On The Streets" and "Neuromancer", have all the wailing vocals and power you could possibly want. So if you want to hear something seriously unique and different, then Battle Beast is the album for you! There are some amazingly addictive songs here that are most deserved of a listen. Worth every penny. \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars Warning! May cause Whiplash........., 15 May 2013
This review is from: Kingdom Of Conspiracy (Audio CD)
Immolation never fail to deliver the thunderous brutality that we all rely on them to provide. Kingdom Of Conspiracy, really is a brilliantly unique album, even by Immolation's standards. The riffs are more rhythmic than ever and the vocals are essentially guttural. The songs themselves are ridiculously good, in fact songs like "Bound To Order" and "The Great Sleep" are the reason that Kingdom Of Conspiracy is Immolation's best album to date. Whether your a fan of Immolation or just of Metal in general, you should wisely invest in this album. Worth every penny. \m/
