As a Rush fan since 1979, I can honestly say they are fully back on track. Passion, precision and speed abound in the music. The production is fine, don't listen to the whiners! Rip to at least 320kbps or just listen to the CD! I think this release is the best since 1981. Modern, layered, dynamic and I can't wait for May 2013 when they hit the UK. A must have release.

The Garden will blow you away.

The best rush release, in my opinion, since Permanent Waves. Catchy choruses, great production, vocal melodies are back. The album closer is possibly THE best track Rush have ever written and recorded. It is sublime. BUY IT!

Another fantastic release from the multi-talented Paul Lawler. This time it is a relaxation CD which does really work and put you into a very relaxed mood.

Do not believe the naysayers about this film. It depicts brilliantly the era it is based in - the early 1970s; with no mobile phones, big TVs or computers. Gripping stuff from start to finish with some classy acting from the host of stars.

If people do not like this then there is no patience anymore as it is a slowly unfolding drama - remember them rather than the action-packed, thrill a minute drivel most films serve up these days. Buy it and make your own mind up!

I'm not kidding I bought these thinking they would be nothing like my 'audiophile' Sennheiser HD600s. They have more attack, more bass and more bite! A fantastic buy. Don't let the price put you off. Suitable for both portable and in house systems.

5.0 out of 5 stars In a word - Brilliant!!, 8 Aug 2010
This review is from: The Suburbs (Audio CD)
Musically, 16 songs range from whimsically divergent to searingly intense, and race listeners through a complete amalgamation of everything that was excellent in Funeral and the Neon Bible. Other reviews have alluded to the album's length, but the sheer volume of the album points to the emotional sincerity of the band's effort. There's not one unnecessary moment on the record. A weighty lyrical concept requires room to breath, and Arcade Fire controls the oxygen, predictably taking it away at times. The Sprawl I and II duo is incredibly shifting from one musical decade to the next. The theatrically ominous "Sprawl I (Flatland)" is introspective and brooding, entirely indie and endearing. Minor chord progressions and Butler's crystal clear vocal delivery resemble a Broadway musical interlude. As soon as listeners settle into the vibe, the incredibly infectious, "Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) whips in with a better-than-Blondie Blondie track, synthesizer flourishes tightly compacted to near perfection. Regine's crooning represents some sort of awakening in the album, and the sound pushes this forward. The corporational stranglehold is clear here, but acceptance has taken grasp as she "wonders if the world's so small that we can never get away from the sprawl." Shopping malls, consumerism, recollection, and eye-popping light all present themselves in the true pop hay maker of the album. In short (if you've made it this far), Arcade Fire sticks with their proven formula, but does so with more emotional sincerity and complexity with The Suburbs. The emphasis on rhythmic singular note guitars and the kitchen-sink of instrumentation everything is the key that works. There is simply not an ounce of filler on this album, and the songs saturate even further on each subsequent listen.

Buy it....

Yet again Rush come up trumps. Like the previous reviewer I'm just getting into S&A. These, on first blush, sound vital, modern, heavy and what we have come to expect from Rush - great musicianship and feeling. Buy these tracks and support the band. Stroll on 2011 for the UK tour!

Absolutely one of my favourites from Zimmer. This and Hannibal are, for me, his best scores so far - and that includes the awesome Gladiator volumes.

As a standalone, listenable piece all the way through (not like a myriad of soundtracks) this really is a must.

Like all great pieces of music, this is a real grower. Absolutely stunning and evocative of the building that is, in my eyes, one of the top 10 buildings in the UK.

Lord's classical pieces are moving, ponderous, yet magical. The cello is marvellous, and Tickell's pipes add a certain piquance to proceedings.

Buy without hesitation!

A top return to form and a nice mix of Body of Song style synths with guitar driven work of old. Old Highs New Lows is sublime - a must for Bob fans but a great intro to one of the best voices and LOUD guitars in rock.
