4.0 out of 5 stars Best Heart Rate Monitor Watch so far, 25 April 2010
I have used several methods for tracking exercise workouts including iphone apps and polar watches. This Garmin watch is the best so far. The heart rate monitor is much more reliable than the polar ones I have had and the GPS signal pickup and retention is fast and stable - much better than the iphone. I particularly like the pace setter function you can run against. The web based Garmin Connect used to save workouts is very good although I slightly prefer Sport Tracks. This watch is a great performer, the only downside is that it is big and bulky and not very beautiful. However it is not a watch for daily use, only for wearing during workouts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointing, 23 Nov. 2009
I am a big fan of Queen and Paul Rodgers. I thought "Return of The Champions" was amazing, one of the few music DVDs I've both rented and bought. I therefore eagerly awaited the release of this one thinking things can only get better. The set list is perfect but I felt that although the performance was good it was a bit lacking the edge and passion the band usually has. Also the sound quality was not quite up to scratch in parts and although well shot, picture quality was slightly disappointing. Perhaps I am just getting too used to Blu-ray format but I have some standard DVDs which upscale better than this. I may be just a bit too nitpicky and if you really have set your heart on this one don't be put off, however if you only want to get one Queen / Paul Rodgers DVD go for the above mentioned "Return of the Champions".

3.0 out of 5 stars An average Runrig album, 6 Sept. 2009
This review is from: The Big Wheel (Audio CD)
I am afraid I must disagree slightly with all the other reviews posted on Amazon about this album. I am a Runrig fan, have seen them twice live and own or have heard virtually all of their cds and dvds. I would rate this one as only average. Yes it contains the usual Runrig mix of folk and folk/rock songs sung in Gaelic and English but with the exception of Abhainn An t-Sluaigh (which is a beautiful gentle folk/soft rock ballad sung in Gaelic) the rest are all just OK and not very memorable. The other exception is the title track which is long and boring. Hardcore Runrig fans will of course disagree with what I am saying and will own the album anyway but if you are just looking to get into the band go for "Heartland" or "The Cutter And The Clan" instead. You will not be disappointed with either of these.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good for sampling Southern Rock genre, 26 July 2009
This is a compliation DVD featuring live performances of several Southern Rock Bands including the Lynyrd Skynyrd Alumni Band performing 3 songs: "Sweet Home Alabama", "Gimme Back my Bullets" and "The Ballad of Curtis Loew". Next is Black Oak Arkansas playing "Jim Dandy to the Rescue". After this is Molly Hatchet performing "Flirtin' with Disaster", "Whiskey Man", and "Beatin' the Odd". Following on is the Atlanta Rhythm Section performing "Champagne Jam", "So into you" and "Spooky". Second last is Blackfoot performing "Train Train", "Highway Song" and "Wishing Well". The music ends with Poco and "Crazy Love". In addition there are interviews and other bonus material. Although the music and sound quality is good video quality is poor with some songs shot in Black and White. If you already like this type of music this is not worth adding to your collection. Rent rather than buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arguably best compact super zoom digital camera, 19 July 2009
I am a bit of a gadget geek when it comes to digital cameras and get a new one every year. The important features for me are: Image quality, large optical zoom, compact size, build quality, style, individualty and preferrably brightly coloured. I usually have gone for Casio and Sony in the past which are very small and look great but don't take great pictures. Any camera has to be a compromise (A digital SLR takes the best pictures but you can't put it in your shirt pocket). Last Year I went for the Panasonic TZ5 and was not disappointed. This years TZ7 is a big improvement. Zoom is longer, image quality is better, it takes HD videos and the limited edition red one looks great. This is probably the best in its class for 2009 and will take some beating next year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Way To Remember The Punk Rock Era, 19 July 2009
Although I enjoyed some songs of the punk era I never liked the music enough to go out and actually buy an album at the time. However as the years have gone by and the price of CDs dropped when I heard some songs on the radio interest was rekindled. I recognised the names of some of the tracks on this album so I thought I would give it a go. Much to my surprise when I played it I knew many of them to hear (if not by name) and realised that this was a great selection of the best and most popular songs of the time. There are only a couple of duff tracks making this a really good way to get into punk rock and it comes nicely packaged with album art appropriate for the genre. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Acoustic Rock, 31 Aug. 2008
This review is from: Sail Away (Audio CD)
This album is different from most Great White albums in that all the tracks (with the exception of "Gone With The Wind" which is an electric blues number and arguably the best on the album) are soft acoustic guitar ballads. None of these tracks are bad but none are great either. I got my CD as part of a double CD package the other CD being a live album recorded in Anaheim with 7 of the band's best known tracks. This is not a great concert in terms of sound quality and musical performance but it adds value to the package and makes it probably worth buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable, 2 Aug. 2008
This review is from: Beethoven: At Bedtime (Audio CD)
A collection of quiet gentle compositions by Beethoven some very well known, some less so. The famous ones are great the lesser known ones not so. Part of a nice series of classical cds but if you have other classical compilation albums you will probably have all the best tracks already.

These earphones look great and fit comfortably but the sound quality is only OK and they don't block out much background noise. They are too expensive for what they are and would get a higher rating if they cost less.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 2 Aug. 2008
Yet another 2 CD set of relaxing classical music. It has nice album art, the selection of music is reasonable with good sound quality and musical performances, so, what is the problem? Well, none if you don't use windows media player but if you do some of the tracks don't rip the names correctly and none of the artists names are included. If you are a bit geeky like me you will be disappointed but otherwise it is OK.
