Anarchists Have Forgotten Their Principles (1914)
Anarchists Have Forgotten Their Principles (1914)

5.0 out of 5 stars Too right!, 23 Jan. 2013
What a breath of fresh air in this age of rampant nationalism and religious bigotry. A clear and succinct view of what nation states do to each other as the poor as their fodder.

My 3 year old daughter loves this toy and is constantly playing with it along with Jessie they are the best of mates. It is made of durable materials and easily cleaned...it still looks new even after constant playing! My only gripe as a an adult is the pernickity stand that comes with it and the balancing act to try and get it right - then again my daughter doesn't give two hoots about that!

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm alright Jack., 22 Mar. 2011
If you like Bernard Manning you'll love this book. If you like the welfare state you'll hate this book. Read the last chapter, once finished don't give it to Oxfam or any other charity...just bin it! (i gave it 2 stars rather than one, because of the Iraqnophobia joke)

A truly remarkable product! My daughter would sleep all the year round under this bed spread...the only way to change the bedding is to replace it with Dora!!

5.0 out of 5 stars our love is easy., 29 Nov. 2010
I first heard Melody on the BBCs "Later With Joools..." and have been a huge fan since. She reminded me of a UK jazz threesome from the 1980s called Carmel, except Melody has a bigger band behind her at times! Her vocals are amazing, haunting, and passionate all at once, and the lyrical content of some of her work is truly reflective and heart felt. When i read of her journey to get to where she is now and from where she started, reminded me of Mexicos' Frieda Kahlo, that something so potentually tragic, could become so powerfully fulfilling. The 2 cd version has "live" content although the audience seems to have been added on at a later date, but don't let that put you off from a superb vocal and musical arrangement. Definately recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let the people sing!, 29 Nov. 2010
This review is from: Amandla! a Revolution (Audio CD)
What a wonderful piece of work. An assembly of authentic voices of the oppressed, from those in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, from its very inception until its final death. A full 29 songs of defiance, celebration, sadness, joy, hope and revolution. If a statement has had to be made about the power of song in lifting the human consciousness and call for action and rememberance this is surely it. A must for all record/cd collections.

5.0 out of 5 stars Power To The People!, 19 Oct. 2010

What a fantastic piece of contempory history from the mouths and vocal chords of those who were there. It gives a breif history of European expansionism into Southern Africa and the mind set of the Afrikaans who decide they were better than those who lived there. The resistence is chronicled from reformism to revolution through the use of song as a form of solidarity and resistance, up to present day when the by gone tales of the anti-apartheid are deliberately ignored and officially forgotten...but the songs tell of the fight for dignity, justice and equality. Totally recommended. Maybe some one could re-release the CD!
