5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 3 May 2009
This review is from: Modern Day Jazz Stories (Audio CD)
Had this CD since it first came out. It's brilliant. For me, it is one of the few CDs that is really innovative and yet still retains the traditional elements of "proper" jazz. The man is a master player, but he doesn't show off and never forgets people are listening to him!!

5.0 out of 5 stars More please..., 9 Sept. 2008
This review is from: Money: A Suicide Note (Paperback)
I loved this book, it is my favourite by Martin Amis so far. Its darkly funny, and I think quite a clever plot. I just wish the author had reproduced this form a few more times. Sometimes, I just think he can try to be a little too clever and forget that some of us just want to be entertained by his cynical witt! This book certainly does that. Enjoy.

The Astonishing Hypothesis: The Scientific Search for the Soul
The Astonishing Hypothesis: The Scientific Search for the Soul
by Francis Crick
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very astonishing, 22 Jan. 2004
Crick seems to be confusing the concept of visual perception with conciousness... and the basic idea, that conciousness is nothing more than "a vast assembly of nerve cells and their assciated molecules" is neither new nor astonishing. Isn't that blinding obvious? No pun intended An interesting read nevertheless!
