5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music, 24 Jun 2014

Its my favourite type of music, instrumentals from probably the best years of beat instrumentals. I have all 3 volumes and they are excellent. it sounds silly, but even the rubbish tracks (to me ) are ok as they are relevant to the year. its not very likely that you will get a cd where you like all the artists that are on it anyway. if you like instrumentals, you will love this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its certainly worth a listen!!, 24 Jun 2014

I don't have many Link Wray cds but have always liked his style of music. very happy with the mixture of his recordings but some of the other choices don't really fit the heading of "Kings Of Distortion", which if they had, I would have given 5 stars. its still a decent purchase so still recommend it.

a mixture of the less well known tracks that have been put together with a smattering of well known tracks. for the price you can't go wrong, and as a casual fan of The Ventures it is still worth listening too, a Ventures fanatic would probably be less impressed with the selections on this box set.

a really good and varied selection of instrumentals that cover that period. i can handle rock and orchestral side by side, now even more than then. thats the advantage of getting older.

i would have given it 5 stars, but the mix is a bit patchy, when you consider the choice they had. more volumes to come ?

great sounds of the time, even if some of the tracks are a bit alike. still an excellent listen for fans of that time.
