2.0 out of 5 stars Tried my best, 24 Jan. 2014
I read to halfway and had to give up as it was a real chore to read. I love Pratchetts earlier works and this one doesn't come close. Time to retire and not tarnish his amazing earlier achievements I think.

3.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for GCSE. Useless for access, 27 May 2013
This review is from: Access to Maths (Paperback)
I bought this book to help with my maths on an access course. It is good for level 2 (GCSE). But there is no level 3 material such as differentation, advanced algebra etc. Access courses are a mixture of level 2 and 3. This book is not fit for purpose and is wrongly titled.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good as long as you have a knowledge of beekeeping terms, 8 Feb. 2012
I found this beekeeping dvd very helpful and enjoyable to watch. I watched a second time with a girlfriend and she found it hard to follow as she has no experience or knowledge of beekeeping at all whereas I had. She didn't understand a lot of the terms used and unfortunately the instructor didn't explain these terms to make what he was saying clear for an absolute beginner. I recommend anyone to buy this dvd after a little reading on the subject.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheese fest, 8 Feb. 2012
This review is from: Head First (Audio CD)
Absolutely awful cheesy rubbish. How can a group that put together the work of art that is 'felt mountain' come up with this and not think it is awful? The other albums had their charms, and for a moment when they released '7th tree' I thought they were going back down the sensible route of felt mountain.

What a disappointment. What a waste. Alison has one of the most beautiful and versatile voices in the world, on felt mountain she experimented and made some beautiful sounds with her voice, even moments of operatic singing. What a huge waste of talent just to please the musically uneducated masses that wouldn't know a stunning voice if it hit them in the face. Alison should stop trying to be Kylie or Madonna and realise she had it right on felt mountain. Kylie and Madonna could only dream of having her voice...USE IT!!! She is getting a little old to be a pop princess, go back to writing stunning artful music for the more musically mature!

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disapointing, 3 Feb. 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
The first one was amazing. People found the leveling and inventory system awkward. I have to admit that I did at first but then it became a pleasure in itself to have the amount customization. I really enjoyed having such a level of control. The fight scenes were fun to slow down and plan.

Mass effect 2 has streamlined all of this to make it play more like a generic FPS, albeit a very good one. I am the type of person that gets bored by these hand holding type games and as a result I am very disapointed with the amount of stream lining and dumbing down they have done to suit your average halo/gears of war crowd.

Despite this, the story line and the game is still very enjoyable. Just not as good as the first.

1.0 out of 5 stars Atrocious, 4 Feb. 2009
This review is from: Cast Of Thousands (Audio CD)
I have listened to some terrible albums in my time but I have never actually been offended by one until now. I absolutely loved asleep at the back but in my opinion I can't see how they can make an album this appalling unless it was a consious effort.

With exception of two songs I found this album had no passion, no edge or direction. Some of the songs have silly out of place noises that the artist probably hoped would pass for creativity but instead turned their music into an audio junk yard. There are a couple or choir orientated songs on there that are laughable bad, the kind where you can imagine the singer with fist clenched and sweating.

(IMHO) I didn't like it. On the other hand if you were a deaf person that miraculously started hearing again there might be a small chance you'll enjoy it. As long as it is the first piece of music you've heard...

2.0 out of 5 stars Bland, 17 July 2008
I find this album to be extremely bland and boring, the music isn't interesting in the slightest and most of the tracks sound the same. If you want good electro get anything from air or royksopp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely good, 14 July 2008
This review is from: The Book Thief (Paperback)
I thought it was extremely good. Very well and cleverly written. Although, it is very sad when the whole street gets bombed in the end and all of liesels friends and family get killed. Oh well, at least max survives and they reunite when the war is over.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't aged well i'm afraid, 31 Dec. 2006
This review is from: Kick (Audio CD)
This album would be great for those of you that love 80s music. If you don't however stay clear, this album is very dated and like most 80s music hasn't aged well. Some of the songs i.e 'never tear us apart', 'need you tonight' are timeless, but i don't think it is worth buying an album just for a couple of songs.
