5.0 out of 5 stars New delivery service 'AmazonTime' promises to deliver items before they've even been ordered!, 31 Jan 2014
I ordered this on Tuesday morning with Next Day delivery. Not arriving on Wednesday I was perplexed, and then informed that it was a pre-order and that I would only receive this set upon release date. Not content with this I contacted a lawyer friend and due to an obscure piece of EU legislature Amazon were strongarmed into using their new delivery service that they haven't even invented yet, AmazonTime. By using what they refer to as a 'Type 40 Time Capsule' you can now get your items BEFORE you've even ordered them! Where will they go next?! Anyway, I now have this set in my hands!

Having watched it all I can say it is an absolute hoot! The Peter Jackson directed 'Indictment of the Daleks: Part 1', 'Indictment of the Daleks: Part 2 - Part 1' and 'Indictment of the Daleks: Part 2 - Part 2' is a captivating 9-hour story set between the hours of 4pm and 5pm.

Other highlights include, 'Lets Kill Osama', a story set in 1066 with absolutely no references to Osama Bin Laden whatsoever and the two-part 'Quarry Quandary' which is set entirely in a quarry in Wales, filmed on location in Singapore.

Also, the revelation of The Doctor's real name being Steven Moffat came as a huge surprise!

Bonus features include a reconstruction of the 'Lost' Episode 9, the only copy of which deleted from Steven Moffat's laptop by Caroline Skinner, who's portrayal of The Rani is an absolute delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best US sitcom on TV!, 5 July 2013
This set contains the 6 episodes of Season One, and the 24 episodes of Season Two and, whilst Season 1 starts off a little unsteady, by the end of it you start to see it's brilliance, and by the start of Season Two the show becomes the best US sitcom there is.

It's an incredible show with an incredible cast and one of the funniest things I have ever seen, just stick with it to the end of the first season because Seasons 2, 3, 4, 5 are all amazing! You wont regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best sitcoms of the 21st century!, 5 July 2013
A lot of people might have stopped watching during the 6-episode mini Season 1, getting bored of it, but the show doesn't really find it's feet until Season 2 when it becomes one of the BEST shows on US television. Season 1 is still good and gets better by the last couple episodes, but if you're considering giving up - don't! Get Season 2 and fall in love with the show as I have. I've seen every episode of the first five seasons and they are FANTASTIC! Any person that would have anything negative to say about the show clearly gave up after the first 4 or 5 episodes. The show is incredible, even better than The Office and a million miles better than the GARBAGE that is The Big Bang Theory, or Two and a Half Men. This show has reignited my faith in US TV and is criminally underrated. Buy Seasons 1 and 2, and fall in love with the best comedy and best cast currently on US TV!

5.0 out of 5 stars 10 Years in the waiting..., 13 Feb 2012
Almost ten whole years ago now the US got their hands on Malcolm in the Middle: Season 1 on DVD. The set sold so well that FOX immediately announced plans for a Season 2 set to be released in 2003. Those plans fell through. Why? All because of music clearances. Due to FOX being... not entirely forward thinking it would have cost a fortune to be able to acquire the rights for the music used in the show to release on DVD and thus the show became suspended in limbo for years and years and years.

For many years I've been keeping a close eye on for Malcolm to appear. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air seasons 5 and 6 were announced on there after a 4-year gap for the same reason of music costs and when the news broke I was overjoyed, however this website does not report the Region 2 (UK) releases. Today, I was flicking through the ratings for my favorite TV shows, making sure they were 'okay'. I was a bit curious about how 'Supernatural's ratings had decreased over the last season or two which led me to learn all about the 'Friday night death slot', that wiki article lead me to Malcolm in the Middle, which was shunted to this death slot in it's final season resulting in it's cancellation and upon scrolling down the page I saw the news. The news that Fabulous Films would be releasing all 7 seasons in the UK this year.

I let out a squeel of joy, what I had been waiting for for so many years was finally a reality. Anyway, every month now, culminating in a 'Complete Collection' before Christmas a new season of Malcolm in the Middle will be released on DVD. It's been a long and tumultuous wait but that is finally over now. If you're a fan of 'Malcolm' please make sure you go out and buy it, the last thing we need is poor sales resulting in only half the seasons getting the released or something. Also there's (hopefully) the possibility of a Blu-ray release soon.

Anyway, it's a fantastic show and definitely deserves a 10/10. If you've never seen it before watch it, you wont be disappointed!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best US comedy in years!, 5 Jan 2012
After the end of 'Malcolm in the Middle' I was well and truly gutted and completely pessimistic as to the fact that there could in fact be another sitcom that takes it's place and lo-and-behold along comes 'The Middle', a show that is not only better than 'Malcolm in the Middle' but the best sitcom to come out of the US in years (maybe even decades). The first season introduces us to the 'Heck's', a middle-class family living in the middle of Indiana (hence the title) I wont go into the specifics of the characters here as many others have but each character has their own unique traits and personality and every actor that appears is always on top form.

I'm hoping this show will go on for many more years, and with the steady incline in the ratings it looks so. This is a fantastic show and I cannot recommend it more, shame it's not on Blu-ray but don't let that hinder your decision! I defy anyone of any age, race, religion, creed or gender to not be able to relate to and love this show!

Don't take my word for it, watch it! Five stars, 10/10!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ignore the idiot who gave it 1 star. This is a FANTASTIC 3D EXPERIENCE!!!, 20 Jun 2011
This review is from: The Hole (Blu-ray 3D) (Blu-ray)
You may be a bit confused over which review to believe. But for all of those who still have faith in the world I advise you to completely ignore the previous reviewers comment and listen to this (my review)

'The Hole' is actually a pretty decent film. I wasn't expecting much from it, but boy did it deliver. Going into this expecting another run-of-the-mill kids film I discovered that it was much more than that, much more of a dark, disjointed, psychological thriller, with some disturbing images such as a little dead girl crying tears of bloody and crawling down a hole akin to something from 'The Grudge' or a policeman lacking the back of his head.

The picture quality, especially the 3D, holds up well, and the color palette is very vibrant, even whilst viewing in 3D mode. Watching the movie in 3D is a whole new level of entertainment, and it is one of the best discs out there for lack of crosstalk (which is only a slight problem in about one or two shots of the whole film - if that) So I would definitely recommend that if you are looking for another 3D movie that was natively shot in 3D, has a great depth to it (that completely adds to the films immersive experience) and practically no crosstalk then go for this, you will not be disappointed.

Overall not only was this a great film, but this is a great disc, the extras may be lacking and feel a bit too much like promotional material but the 3D on the disc is vastly superior to a lot of other discs out at the moment, and is definitely demo-disc material worthy. I would probably place this 3D disc just behind Avatar in terms of depth and quality, but way above lacklusture 3D titles such as Piranha or Clash of the Titans.

So, anyone who shares my opinion please take the time to review this and get it up to the (at least) 4 stars it deserves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Comedy Series Ever!, 27 May 2011
I'm only up to Season 3, Episode 8, but I must say this is probably one of the best purchases I have ever made, and is definitely one of my most valued box sets. This show has a unique style and humor to it, and is hands down probably the best comedy in the history of television. Instead of contrived set-ups or one-liner gags, this show sets up comical situations around real-life things that happen every day, setting things up for a huge pay-off later on in the episode. The plotlines are very layered and complex and every time an episode finishes you're left sitting there with a huge grin on your face, realizing something that had been set up at the very start.

Trying to explain a plot line in full would be like trying to list all the components of a NASA Space Shuttle, but what I can tell you is that some situations involve the awkwardness of breaking a lamp at a guests house after being asked to leave, a crazy nanny who has been psychologically traumatized after enduring 15 years working on a Looney Tunes ride that involved the theme tune playing over and over again, as well as Larry tripping up Shaq during a basketball game.

Each episode is just hilarious and so natural. Take my word for it, this is a must buy, and definitely worth a watch, once you get into it you will be totally hooked and realize how clever and how brilliant this show actually is.

The set comes in seven separate DVD cases each containing 2 DVDs (3 for Season One) which are all packaged inside a hard cardboard case. Simple, but great in design.

Overall rating: 10/10

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this piss poor game., 27 Mar 2011
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Why? Why on Earth did I ever buy this, thinking that it would be good. I loved The Sims 2 on the DS, and henceforth thought that this would be something in the same vein as that. How wrong I was. Whereas you have tasks and goals to complete in The Sims 2, in this, you do not.

Basically, you spend 10 minutes making your sim, then there's a small tutorial in which you buy a bed. And that's it, that's the game. What happens when the sim goes to work? You have a shot of their house until they get back. What about when they go to the cinema, or have something to eat? You get a shot of the outside of the building. And the controls are a far cry from The Sims 2, when you could control them with the arrow keys.

DO NOT buy this game. There is NOTHING to do in it. All you do is basically press a button when the sim needs to go to the toilet, or eat. And THAT'S it. I'll never play this again, and I'm desperately trying to sell this on in order to buy a decent launch title. Not only would I call this the worst 3DS game, but the worst game I have ever seen. Period.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloody Brilliant Blu-Ray!!, 31 Dec 2010
What can I say? If you're reading this you probably know the whole situation surrounding Supernatural on blu-ray. This for the first time ever in European markets marks the release of the first two seasons on the format. In the USA, season 2 is yet to be released (although it can be imported from Asia) Why should you buy this then? Well for a start the superior picture quality. The picture is strong, with a light grain and retains the whole gritty feel of the show, definitely worth watching on blu-ray!

Also, the price is excellent, or at least was when I purchased it at 67. A perfect purchase for someone willing to fork out in excess of 33 for just the fifth season on blu-ray. I already had the first four seasons on DVD, but managed to make a tidy 33 selling them. So, I practically upgraded my collection to HD at no extra cost.

The first two and last two seasons have four discs each, with the third season having three (due to the lower episode count as a result of the Writer's Strike) But all in all you get 104 episodes on 19 discs (with a running time of 4392 minutes), not to mention a ton of extras! The case is simple but beautiful on the shelf. The set is five standard multi-disc blu-ray amaray cases (the same as used in regular sets) in a strong glossy cardboard box.

At the end of the day, this is a great set, Season 1 is a great start to a great series, and unlike most the show just gets better and better, I'm only a few episodes into Season 5 at the moment, but from what I've heard it is the best, and I think this show deserves a lot more recognition, a hidden gem beneath the TV phenomenons such as LOST and 24, and is in many ways better than both.

All in all this is a great set, but I'd advise you to wait a while, perhaps until the price drops to somewhere around the 60-70 mark. If you've seen this show on TV, or perhaps own a season or two and wish to catch up then by all means pick this up, you wont regret it. Yes, it may not be the complete collection, and yes, there will be a seasons 1-6 blu-ray collection in a year's time, but does it really matter? If the price is right, go for it.

The Show: 9/10
Video Quality: 9/10
Extras: 8/10
Overall Value: 10/10

So get it, even if it's a blind buy, you wont regret it, trust me, pretty soon you'll get caught up in the world of the Winchester brothers, and wonder why you never did before!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Definitely worth it in HD, 7 Oct 2010
I had already bought the first season on DVD, but to pay just 2 more and have BOTH seasons on blu-ray when I was gonna get season 2 on blu-ray anyway is a no-brainer. Both seasons are consistently awesome. Fringe is probably one of the most underrated shows on TV right now. The best episode here is Peter, but all episodes are absolutely awesome. This is probably the best TV show at the moment and I cannot wait to see season 3. Buy it, if you haven't seen one episode, buy it, and buy it, in HD! 10/10 show, 10/10 blu-ray!
