2.0 out of 5 stars Boring Boring Boring. Next...., 1 Dec 2008
This review is from: Circus (Audio CD)
Another poor album from Britney. Its about time she started putting her own ideas into songs. 37 writers too? Has this broke records for the number of writers for and album?
And why cant she sing live. What a waste of money if you paid to see her, id be asking for a refund. The miming on the x-factor was atrocious.

1.0 out of 5 stars One for the trash bin - Get 'Bring ya to the brink' instead, 14 July 2008
This review is from: Hard Candy (Audio CD)
Brought this album, managed to listen to it once and now ive had to sell it on. Its truly awful and the worst album of the year so far.

I would recommnend getting bring ya to the brink by cyndi lauper. Its the best thing ive heard since 'confessions'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb CD - Do not overlook this one!!!, 8 July 2008
This review is from: Bring Ya To The Brink (Audio CD)
This album is a welcome return from Cyndi Lauper, Working with Kleerup (Robyns Friend) , Basement Jaxx, Digital Dog, Dragonette. The songs are pure summer catchy pop/dance tunes. This is way better than madonnas hard candy CD and hasnt left my car stereo since i got it in May.
Grab a copy, you won't be dissapointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor collection, 30 Nov 2007
This review is from: Christmas Hits (Audio CD)
A very poor collection of christmas songs. Why is it so hard to release a CD with all the known favourites on it with originals. Every year i have to make my own.
And since when was Mad World ever a christmas song? Just because it was a christmas number one, doesnt make it christmas in the slightest. What is wrong with these people. Its the same story with East 17 and Stay another day. Nothing christmas about it. Big deal, was number one at christmas and the video had some snow in it. Get over it.

And proper crimbo from bo-selecta. Are they having a laugh at us mugs? It just says it all. And then Steps instead of the original classic!!! That was a novelty song and should not be on a Christmas CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful overlooked album...ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!, 19 Sep 2007
Okay, when i first hear Darren Hayes was making an album with a fairlight synth, i thought, what is he doing, its going to be awful with dull electronic sounds that are iritating and dated.

However i am pleased to say i am wrong. The sound he has created is not what i was expecting and he covers a variety of genres so there really is something for everyone.

My favourite track out of the 25 is 'waking the monster' and i think it should be a single.

Its such a shame that radio did not pick up on this CD. It should have been a huge success compared to some of the trash that people buy.

If you want a album that reflects the hard work an artist has crafted from the very beginning then buy this album. You wont be dissapointed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb new artist with a brilliant debut, 19 Sep 2007
This review is from: Park Bench Theories (Audio CD)
I brought this album of the back of 'when will i see your face again' and i have to say i am not dissapointed. Each song is wonderfully crafted, but my favourite song is the awesome 'Lady West'. Its really catchy and is very 'big band' style which is nice and refreshing.

Definately buy this album. i expect this artist will be huge in the very near future.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best christmas album in the world..ever!, 13 Nov 2006
This album out does any artists attempts to make a christmas album. The openning song 'home on christmas day' sets the standard for the cd.

Home on Christmas day - 10/10 - Fantastic song, great to listen to on christmas eve before the full celebrations. A song to get you in the mood for christmas.

Early christmas morning - 10/10 - Another great christmas song and should have been the single to the album. I would have loved to see a video for this.

Rocking around the christmas tree - 8/10 - Great for partys

Christmas Conga - 10/10 - Cyndi really knows how to have fun

Minnie and Santa - 10/10 - Personal favourite, great story telling song.

Feels like christmas - 9/10 - Great music, instantly catchy song.

Three ships - 7/10 - Cyndis take on this classic tune

New Years Baby - 8/10 - Featuring her sons first vocal. Lovely tune.

December Child - 10/10 - When i first heard this i thought it was a cover. Its not but it just sounds like a classic chrsitmas song.

In the bleak mid winter - 10/10 - Lovely song for those cold winter evenings by the fire. The guitar is beautiful.

Silent Night - 10/10 - the best version of silent night i have ever heard.

Buy this album now, you wont be dissapointed. Enjoy your christmas and have fun with this cd...

5.0 out of 5 stars Cyndi shows her true colors and really shines..., 13 Nov 2006
This review is from: Shine (Audio CD)
I absolutely love this album. My favourite Cyndi album ever and its a crime that this was not internationally realeased as originally planned. This is pure pop and is what is missing from todays charts. Cyndi has her own unique style unlike any other artist.

Shine - 10/10 - 5 years since hearing this song and it still sounds as fresh as it did then. The start of the song is amazing and reminds me of a fairground ride. Her vocals are superb and is such a catchy song.

Its hard to be me - 9/10 - Great rock song with a 80's vibe.

Madonna Whore - 8/10 Could have been better. Has a funky bassline and simple lyrics. could have been a follow up single. This is the song that was leaked on the net and cyndi thought she was performing live for the first time and the crowds were singing with her and she had to ask how they new it!!! Everywomans a madonna, every womans a whore.. Love it

Wide Open - 8/10 - definately better than the demo version i originally heard. Has a rock style to it.

Rather be with you - 10/10 - Another gem on the album. Catchy r'n'b style song with great lyrics.

Who let in the rain - 9/10 - Originally from her 'hat full of stars' cd, cyndi has remade a version for this album. Not much difference to the 1993 version except a softer approach on the music. I prefer this version to the original as it has a more modern appeal.

Comfort You - 7/10 - A grower. Doesnt appeal on first listen but after a few you really appreciate the song. Has a jazz style.

Eventually - 9/10 - Soft ballad telling a story. Ambient chillout.

Waiting for valentino - 10/10 - Another hidden gem of cyns. Alot of fans dislike this song but i think its brilliant. You need to listen to it on a boiling hot day lazying around the pool. It has a italian feeling to it and i beleive it was written for her grandmother. Superb..

This kind of love - 9/10 - RnB song. Lyrically not the best but is appealing and a good listen. I beleive this song has now been given to this years Canadian Idol winner.

Higher Plane - 8/10 - Not sure what happened on this version but it has changed too much from the demo i heard in 2000. So id fallen in love with that and this got changed too much. I appreciate this song now and its is really good. Especially the end scratching.

Waters edge - 10/10 - THE NEW TIME AFTER TIME - Lovely song, great music, what more can i say. Listen to this one and listen to the one on the body acoustic cd. Bother superb.

Miss my Baby - 7/10 - Bonus track. Not one of my favourites. lyrically its not very good and still sounds as though its in demo stage. Could have been better. Im basing my review exculding this bonus track.

The shine project was cyndi's most challenging in crafting an album of pop songs and returing to her roots. She didnt do a bad job and this definately deserved to be bigger.
