The Voynich Manuscript (Perfectly Scanned and Digitalized Original)

1.0 out of 5 stars Voynich, Schmoynich!!, 25 Oct. 2014

NOT VERY GOOD!! Probably my own fault as my Kindle is quite old and it didn't occur to me that everything would be in black & white! I'm sure the manuscript is perfectly scanned etc but the device doesn't do it justice - one of the many occasions when there is no better alternative to a good old fashioned book!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars possibly the most banal, pointless book I've ever read ..., 8 July 2014

This review is from: The Slap (Paperback)
possibly the most banal, pointless book I've ever read! No plot, awful characters and dialogue! Ending? Well, I ran out of pages but I wouldn't say that constituted an ending! Do yourself a favour, DON'T BUY IT, if someone gives you a copy, DON'T READ IT! Take it straight to the charity shop, you could write a warning on the fly leaf to help others avoid wasting their time and money!

Barbara Kingsolver is an author of weight, her books will not allow you to put them down so make sure you don't have anything too pressing to do when you start to read!

This is a 'must have' film for anyone who appreciates cinema. A wonderful black comedy full of joy and pain, love and despair. I watch it at least once a year and every time I'm moved to laughter and tears. A brilliant sound track from Cat Stevens (as was!)

This is a really good book to help one understand just how adaptable the material is and how many diverse uses it has. Great for anyone who wants to take up the art of felting, altho' the work in this book is mostly advanced but gives one something to aspire to!

I was expecting some text with this book. It's just page after page of beautiful photos of lovely work by some of the top jewellers in the profession. For that reason it's still very good The photos are inspiring and the work is thought provoking, all good!

2.0 out of 5 stars Catalogue of en exhibition, 27 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This isn't what I thought it was going to be! It's just the catalogue for an exhibition and I thought it was a book about techniques. I think it was misrepresented and over priced for what it was. But it only cost £5.50 so not a big deal.
