5.0 out of 5 stars Quality watch,silly price!, 29 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The watch, even at twice or three times the price would have been worth it,it's a Seiko afterall. OK,so it's entry level, but that's still several levels above most watch manufacturers.I have to say,I haven't experienced any of the time loss that a few reviewers have either.I do wear it every day though. Also, those with big hands and feminine sized wrists, that's me,will be pleased to know that the watch is smaller than most of the current military/tachograph style watches and sits very well on smaller wrists. This also means that it's much more difficult to knock, bang, scrape and scratch it too, which is a massive bonus! I have a very physical job and have not so much as 'dinged' it in two weeks!
I purchased the watch at 51 and had been 'watching' it's price for several months. It does change almost daily and has never been anywhere near it's inflated 299 srp.It even comes with a US price tag with $185 on it so don't believe it would ever be as expensive as stated.Like I said though,it is a great watch and at the right price,it would be good to add a mechanical,automatic,21 jewel watch to all those quartz timepieces you already have. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Mindblowing!, 26 April 2011
Firstly,I think I should clarify what you get for the asking price.A gatefold package containing 4 discs,2 DVD and 2 CD,along with a booklet! There's the main concert,a second bonus concert and extras galore, including music videos and behind the scenes footage, all on the DVDs.The two CDs contain the audio for the main Black symphony concert, such is the length of the concert.Amazing value for an amazing audio/visual extravaganza!
If you are aware of WT then you know that no amount of words can describe what an event it is to actually see what Sharon and the boys can do live and not on a studio album. If you're new to WT,then just go to YouTube for a few minutes, then come back here and buy this!
There are singers, there are vocalists, then there's Sharon! Effortless power with an unbelievable range and subtlety that gives your ears a treat every time.I came late to the WT experience but thanks to my love of Armin Van Buuren I discovered Sharon as a guest vocalist on my favourite track of his and have been a fan ever since.
I own too many live concerts on DVD to mention, from all genres of music. Most of them have a compromise in them somewhere which is counteracted by the visual experience. This DVD has no compromise at all and actually improves on many of the studio tracks, which makes the inclusion of the live CDs even more essential.
A benchmark in live concert performance, production and recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars Same guys,new sound!, 3 Oct 2009
This review is from: Yeah Ghost (Cd Album) (Audio CD)
I've been a massive fan of Zero 7 since day one and this album only confirms my opinion of them. Two very clever guys who know how to make music that challenges you more and more with every listen. As pioneers of the early down tempo, chill out scene they could have continued to produce album after album of similar 'comfortable' music but thankfully they haven't!
This album doesn't 'flow' like their others do and each new track is a pleasant surprise much in the vein of an Unkle album.Upbeat, down beat, soul tinged, electronica that 'pounds' or 'chills' from track to track.Typical multi usage of different vocal styles and treatments like previously but this time with more of an edge.
I won't dissect the tracks but try to put it this way.If you enjoyed the 'jump' Radiohead made from OK Computer to Kid A than you'll love this!
If artists continue to be forced into a 'pigeon hole' by narrow minded fans and reviewers alike then the 'Tesco' top 40 will be the only one that future generations will be able to purchase from!
Buy this album and stop that from happening...please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Someone's removed my earplugs!, 4 July 2009
This review is from: Tubular Bells (Audio CD)
I was born a few months after the original release date of Tubular Bells. My father bought it on it's release date and to this day can't really explain why! I'm glad he did though because he introduced me to the most amazing recording artist of the 20th century.I have every version that it is possible to own of Tubular Bells and bought this one 'just because' it was the next 'new' one! If you think you know every millisecond, every nuance of the original Tubular Bells then think again! This new stereo mix and remastering brings the original instruments into stunning clarity, allowing the multi track sound to spread out and reveal what the instruments actually sound like. The 'blues' section,in particular, benefits from the new stereo mix as does almost all of part two which gains a more full bodied 'wide' sound. Also for the 'keen eared' amongst you there appears to be an extra 'bar' in part one during the humming section! At 14m06s,god I'm sad lol!
So to sum up,no matter how many versions you have, get this one as well! Finally you can play Tubular Bells in your car and actually hear it!

5.0 out of 5 stars More layers than an onion!, 26 Mar 2009
This review is from: Junior (Audio CD)
Astounding! I would have given this album 5 stars after one listen but over 10 listens in I would like to give it 6! To dismiss this album as a lot of 'pop tunes' is to miss the point. The amount of work that has gone into each track is plain to hear right from the start.Royksopp never fail to deliver and the use of great vocalists, especially Karin Dreijer-Andersson,just enriches the whole experience. You have to wait a long time for their albums but it is worth it.This album bears little resemblance to Melody a.m.,it is much more layered, but if you love The Understanding then this is the 7.1 version of that! Buy it,so they can keep making more! What else can make you feel this good for only 8?
