How better to advertise one's analogue credentials than a tape cassette version of the Moleskine. Just the same as a regular version, but with a cool design. I've used dozens of theses over the years and they are a real pleasure to write upon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tremendous, 2 Jun. 2013

Read up on these carefully. Seems that different colours sell for different prices. The White ones were £79, but these were only £39 and at this price they are a steal. Pushing out 50 watts and sounding both meaty and clear, they work very well as a oomphy set of PC speakers. They kick out more noise than my Denon hi-fi. Highly recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as they claimed, 29 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I read carefully before purchase, and took encouragement from the reviews and details supplied. Took it to China and India where it didn't manage to fit any socket I used. Doesn't handle Chinese 3 pin nor India 3 pin. The offices and hotels I was in did take multi country plugs as standard thank god, so UK 3 pin worked fine. I feel the 'World Travel' claim is a bit misleading.

A great little bag. Well thought out and sturdy. Has survived China, India and Newcastle upon Tyne! Good value too.

An Unfinished Life [DVD]

4.0 out of 5 stars A lovely, delicately told human story, 11 Sept. 2009
This review is from: An Unfinished Life [DVD] (DVD)
A lovely, gentle film about the tensions brought about by family and by history. Robert Redford is a grumpy grandpa still grieving for the loss of his son. Jennifer Lopez is excellent as his former daughter-in-law and Morgan Freeman plays Reford's close friend confined to bed having been attacked by a bear.

It says much for the cinematography and the simple, yet absorbing storyline that these 3 + the excellent performance by the young grand-daughter hold the attention for the best part of 2 hours. An antidote to fast moving, big budget action movies. Utterly charming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, 24 April 2009
I read the reviews and checked out a few TV's in different shops. Somehow I was always drawn to the Philips TVs - picture clarity I suppose. Took the plunge and haven't regretted it. The TV was a doddle to set up and even I worked out how to cable it to the DVD and BT Vision box - oh, and the Wii. Picture superb and sound surprisingly good. Star attraction is the ambilight which seems a bit gimmicky, but when I switch the ambilight off, the viewing experience is now all wrong. Ambilight does seems to make it a more easy viewing experience for your eyes and you find yourself drawn into a programme. Strange but brilliant.

Glad I waited and very glad I bought this TV.

Visual Explanations: Images and Quantities, Evidence and Narrative
Visual Explanations: Images and Quantities, Evidence and Narrative

5.0 out of 5 stars Gloriously informative, 1 Feb. 2009
Tufte is pure genius. I own pretty much all of his work. The book is strewn with terrific stories and illustrations about the use of data and how to tell the best stories. For anyone working as an analyst or in a similar capacity which involves having to explain information to others, this book (and its companions) is truly invaluable. Don't be put off by the title, this is book you can show to your Granny and she'd be fascinated by it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Would be totally lost without it, 1 Feb. 2009
It's a simple enough idea - a weekly diary with a notes page opposite for scribble and notes, but little by little it has become the bedrock of how I organise my life. The trusty old filofax is finding it hard to get a look in and the moleskine is my new best friend. Tend to be out and about travelling with my job and the hours can be long and irregular - but the moleskine is suiting the way I work and the way I think, very well. Very, very useful.
