4.0 out of 5 stars a heart felt tear jerking film, 8 Oct. 2001
This review is from: Gia [VHS] [1998] (VHS Tape)
the film retells the heartbreaking and untimely death of the succesful model Gia. using the talented Angelina Jolie to demonstrate the true fire the character has and how that fire can, at some moments be so bright then die down into nothing. a tragic story of fame success, beauty, lonieleness, drug abuse and the highs and lows of fame.

4.0 out of 5 stars dangerous, of the disturbing depths of drugged up communitys, 31 Jan. 2001
Leo Dicaprio is brilliant, this is without question, the most brilliant portrayed role he has ever challanged, yet sadly has not been appreciated for. An eye opener toward the world of drugs, a warning and toward the deep outreach of the wrecked lives, that could have been something. A clear portrayed of the devistating effects this life can lead you too, and take from you. what is even more chilling is not only the reality that this occurs but also the spine invockeing reality that this disturbing bullet flying film, was based on a twisted reality, of young adolescents destroyed emotionally anguished existance.

4.0 out of 5 stars tragic telling of the sheltred anguish upon troubled sisters, 31 Jan. 2001
this story is not like any before, suicide has been a sheltered topic that lurks its deathly existance throughout are troubled world. yet this brave tale confronts the perplexing mystery that sinks throughout our subconcious and disturbs our mind against the heinous reality, of the troubled teen who out of a misery who most could never comprehend takeing their young life. Understanding this story is a noble task, you either can't, or are better of not, yet there is a precious fascination, that mystifies you and consumes your attention, and you are spellbound, by the magic it projects upon you. this story is for all the young adolescent teens who consider their parents to sheltering. A hell that can suck, your spirit. At first it seems ridiculous in the reasons, but you finally after watching this disturbed gem realise, that they had no other choice, apart to take their life. A tragic jewl, through despiration, innocence and the corrupted obsession, of schoolboys fantasies. but the saddest part of this film is even thought they dissapear from this world, their deaths will stay with you and in a crazy way you can sympathise.Tragic, tainted, precious.

4.0 out of 5 stars a bleak outlook to the twisted views/problems of adolescents, 31 Jan. 2001
Anjelina Jolie is brilliant, it is one of the great highlights of her ever spirraling career, she lights up this film beyond comprehension. Not that this film needs any lightening up. Dealing with this emotionally challageing topic is difficult for most, but the acting and skill of directing, setting and telling is bound to project some stir of emotions throughout you. It will disturb you and confront emotions that you never knew you possesed. With dilemas you never knew you existed. It is a treck through the bleack, twisted outlook of the damageing acts that can lead to the psychological disorders. Makeing you think twice about the abnormality of others, and who is normal. Giveing you a better understanding of the hidden wounds that lie deep within the sheltered minds of individuals.

3.0 out of 5 stars a gritty suspense story, sinister and superb, 20 Dec. 2000
This has got to be a suspense story that keeps you at the very edge of your seat, Rebecca De Morny portrays a very disturbed Nanny who from the very beggining you can tell there is an evil within her. You cringe at every moment when you are just waiting for her to strike out against the poor unsuspecting family, who trust her like she was part of the family. This thriller captivates suspense like none before!

4.0 out of 5 stars for anyone who has ever had a crush, 13 Dec. 2000
This review is from: The Crush [VHS] [1993] (VHS Tape)
This film is a sinister thriller which brings a frightening reality into the indepth nature of a confused adolescent's disturbed fantasys and infatuation of an older man. This film will relate to any teenage girl who has had a crush upon any boy and all will relate to the emotions played by Alicia Silverstone, but when you witness the way a crush can turn into a twisted obsession, the innocent child we first wittnessed, into a disturbed individual. Carey Elwes plays the part of the bewildered highly talented journalist to perfection, and Alicia actually experiences a role of someone who is not too much of a rich brat( unlike her other parts since), very enjoyable, thrilling and a great suspense trigger, this film portrays a sinister outlook of a crush gone wroung, with one of those fantastic twists that leaves you replaying the consequences further.

4.0 out of 5 stars an original horror film, full of gore, suspense and terror, 13 Dec. 2000
i thought this film was one of the most scariest films i had seen, not only was it full of the gore factor but it was phycologically terrorfying. with moments of pure suspense, that actually left you screaming at the screen " get out of there!!". Not only was this film cleverly deviced, but it kept you guessing at the end, about the identity of the killer and when all is revealed shocks are in store. It has been a first for me to disscover a horror film where the murders are more well thought up, in a more sinister nature than your average, slasher flicks. Great cast of the teen stars of this generation, including, josh jackson and jared leto. this film is a must for all those, who secretly enjoyed scream and i know what you did last summer, but are looking for more indepth terror. I say that this film is without a doubt a new horror flick, that will stay with you the next time you here an urban legend you will literally want to hide behind the couch. If they frightened you before after this film, they will terrify you. I know that i still look behind me in the car, to check for axe wheeling cloaked figures, this is a must for all you horror fans out there. watch it alone if you do dare, whatever this film will teach you is, beware what horrifying stories that you might make up because they might come true.
