5.0 out of 5 stars Far better than hand fork when weeding, 15 July 2013
Got one of these off Ebay, where it was a bit cheaper.

Anyhow, I found this very easy to use and far more versatile than a hand fork. I am plagued with creeping buttercup but the 'point' on this tool was ideal to lift them. Dragged through the soil, it has the affect of a dutch hoe and disturbs seedlings which wither in the heat.

With this and a pair of secateurs, all 'pottering' jobs in the garden can be done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine with Apple 3GS and Blackberry Curve, 6 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Delivered pre-charged, which was handy.

The enclosed short, curly lead has 4 interchangeable heads, inc. 30pin Apple but not the new Apple Lightening. I had no problems charging an iPhone 3GS and Blackberry Curve using the USB micro head at the same time. Blackberry's are so fussy about charging, so that's a result!

This unit is charged by plugging it into a USB port or mains charger, it has a USB micro input for charging so the enc. lead has a dual use.

The unit is shiny black plastic but comes with a mesh 'sock' so it shouldn't get scratched when in your case.

I live in a area of high rainfall so trace elements get washed out the acid soil. Bought this as a foliar feed to help green up the plants, used a tablespoon into 9l of water.

3.0 out of 5 stars iPhone OK, Blackberry Curve no., 2 July 2013

Didn't live up to expectations. Charged my iPhone 3GS OK but the Blackberry Curve didn't want to know, popping up a message about the USB hub being underpowered.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be aware of issues with Windows image backup (0x8078002a error), 29 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
USB 3.0 seems fast, maybe not as quick as e-Sata.

I'm using Windows Vista and went to perform an image backup on this 3Tb drive and got the 0x8078002a error. Checked on Google at it seems this Seagate drive using 4k physical sectors which only Windows 8 can use for image backups. In the end, I downloaded Seagate's DiskWizard, a badged version of Acronis, is order to perform an image backup of the C:\ drive and make a boot CD-ROM.

Image backup aside, the drive works fine for keeping libraries of music, photos, videos etc.

The metal case gets warm but never hot. USB3.0 cable is included.

4.0 out of 5 stars OK, some incompatibility with USB2 devices, 29 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Installed easily enough on a home-made tower PC of some age. Although the power connection is on 'old skool' Molex 4-pin, there's a adaptor in the box to convert a SATA power cable. The unit is sized for a 3.5" bay (i.e. floppy) which my tower PC has behind a pop-out blanking plate. IIRC you can get 5.25" to 3.5" carriers if your PC only has full size bays.

PCI card provides all the connectivity, there's no need for plugging into headers on the mobo.

Restarting Vista a few drivers were installed but Windows wanted more. The CD-ROM doesn't have searchable driver files, instead you must run the setup.exe and then reboot. After rebooting, Windows was happy all drivers were running.

I tried a 32Gb SDHC card which was read fine, then tried a Canon camera and it was fine on USB2.0. Then tried a Seagate 3Tb disk on USB3 - again no problems and the data xfer speed was pretty good as you'd expect with USB3.0 though perhaps still lagging e-SATA.

My one failure was plugging in the USB radio receiver for a Microsoft Mouse 4000. The device driver registered, but the mouse didn't work. Returned the USB radio receiver to a back-panel USB socket and all was well again.

All in all, good unit to upgrade to USB3.0 and bring the connectors out to the front panel. USB2.0 compatibility wasn't 100% with me - YMMV. I guess you're still paying a premium for USB3.0, unless you really must have it then there's far cheaper card-reader/USB2.0 units.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic show, 25 Jun 2013
This review is from: Rockshow [DVD] [2013] [NTSC] (DVD)
Fantastic show, capturing a band at the peak of their powers. Always poignant to see Linda.

Video quality is pretty good and there's stereo and 5.1 sound; TBH, I found the DTS 5.1 soundtrack a little bit 'disconnected' from the video as a result of the remastering and the crowd surround sound overly loud.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks promising, 25 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Usual rapid delivery with Prime.

Unit was up and running with my Sony TV/AV/DVD and Virgin V Box HD in 30 mins with some basic activities such as "watch TV" defined. iOS app worked too, although it's only for the iPhone and runs in scaled-up mode on iPad.

Obviously much functionality to understand but it certainly looks promising.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, just lacks a depth bar, 21 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I used this on what was a pretty tough test and was pleased with the result.

I had lifted turf to make a new flower-bed and needed to bring the soil to a tilth. My ground is clay and tree roots had gone through the soil - it was broken up with a mattock to remove the worst roots before the tiller was put it action.

Pros

Brings soil to a fine tilth, far better than hand digging
Works OK on even lumpy clay soil, with a couple of passes
Being pulled backwards over tilled soil give a deeper dig
Never jammed on roots or stones
No sign of engine lacking power, but isn't too noisy
Far easier to start and store than a 2-stroke

Cons

No depth bar
Can 'bounce' when it hits a root or heavy clay lump
Quite a spill of soil on either side which needs to be raked back.
It's not for doing 1/4 acre in one go!

Overall I'm pleased with the performance, once the clay soil had been broken up it was easy to spread grit and fertilizer and dig it in with a quick run over.

Arrived next day with Amazon Prime, plugged into iPad 3 and Sony Bravia TV and movies I had shot on the iPad plus BBC iPlayer were shown on the TV without me having to do anything. What's not to like at this price?
