Daikaiju! Giant Monster Tales
Daikaiju! Giant Monster Tales
by Robert Hood
Edition: Hardcover
Price: 15.95

5.0 out of 5 stars The fist collection of giant monster tales!, 23 Jun 2014
this a great collection of fun giant monster stories, I am gigantic fan of giant monster and this collection of short stories are very well written and are just pure joy to read.

this being the first book of kaiju stories is great and it's sad that most people overlook this one, their two follow-ups to this one so if you like the new Godzilla movie gave this a go and you'll be happy you did.

4.0 out of 5 stars a few fun ones, but most of them are bad!, 19 May 2013
The people at PS artbooks continue put out high quality collected reprints of old horror comics with Out of the night. The artwork is heavy with shadows and the original colours are dull, the stories are over written.

the highlights in this volume are The return of the werewolf, the zombie's revenge, Adventure into witchcraft! and The weird Window(in which army of ghost try to take over the world!). there are few duds here, such as the unknown ghost, which has to be the most gun-ho! USA number one ghost story of all time! and the wolf-children of Bengal.

the word balloons have been cleaned up, as usual with PS artbooks stuff, but the dialogue boxes have not and are a bite hard to read.

To really get the most out of this one you'll have to be really into old comics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy, Weird, Creepy and Cool old horror comics!, 17 Mar 2013
PS artbooks have done an amazing job collecting these old horror comics. the time and effort put into these books really shows.

the stories here are just Crazy, most of them would make for interesting films. like I said these stories are crazy, weird, creep and cool. A few examples are The Ratman, in which a mobster comes back form the dead as a rat/human hybrid, Dirt of death (that ones a real gem of crazy) and The thing form the centre of the earth (featuring a creature with a glass dome growing out of it's neck!)

As part of the Harvey Horrors line, PS artbooks include brief articles on the artist who worked on these comics. I find this to very interesting spotlight on obscure and underappreciated artist. For this one there's a look at Morris "Moe" Marcus.

I have got a few other books from these guys and the very high quality is done on every one of them. Now this book might not apparel to every one, Horror addicts and die-hard comics will get the most out of them these books are well worth your time if
your looking for something old and weird give this a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great dvd, 23 Mar 2012
Shout factory has done a great job with the first Gamera movie. This is only Japanese version of the film, the A.I.P and Sandy Frank dubbed version are not due to the right holders asking for a bit too much money. The Picture and sound quality is excellent, the subtitles are easy to read. The extras are a Publicity Gallery and excellent audio commentary by August Ragone.

This is a great DVD. the Japanese version is great in and all, it would have been nice to get one of the US version but those are on DVD so this is not a deal breaker.

If you, or someone you know, this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars the gold stander for all collceted reprint!, 19 April 2011
Dark Horse comics have done a amazing job bring Creepy back from the comic graveyard. They made a fan out of me, the stories are good fun and the great artwork just makes them better. Dark horse have put alot of time and effert into this and it shows. hell they had the old ads and letters pages reprinted too and that something that all collcetions of old comics should do!

so bottem line, if you love horror this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best monster movies ever made!, 9 Jan 2011
This, as I said in the tile, is One of the best monster movies ever made. The DVD is brillent, you get both the Japanese verison(Mothra vs. Godzilla) and the US version(Godzilla vs. the thing), both look and sound fantasic. The special effects on show is very, very good and lot better than most effects you get in movies to day. On the US version there is a very will done audio commentary by godzilla exeperts Steve Ryfle and Ed Godziszewski.

anyway I really do enjoy this movie very time I watch it, so all I got to say is this is the one to go for best copy available.

4.0 out of 5 stars an Interesting, and cool twist on superheroes comics, 22 Jun 2010
As fan of classic monster movies and kirkman's Walking dead comic, so when I saw this I thought cool werewolf superhero. Will after reading it I still think it's cool but nothing to wright home about. It's fun and gory story and art put me in mind of a cartoon. I recound it as hollyday book and as good way to get in to comics.
