5.0 out of 5 stars A charming medieval romance, 17 July 2011
A charming medieval romance, heart warming and entertaining, well written and historically evocative. A Knight's Enchantment is set in the West Country at the time of the Knights Templar. It features an unusual heroine, an alchemist, and a gorgeous knight who is as sensitive as he is strong! When they meet, Hugh and Joanna are both dedicated to liberating members of their family from the clutches of a corrupt man. Their romance is cleverly woven into their ongoing adventure. I read it in one sitting on a rainy day and enjoyed every moment of the unfolding plot!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch sexy reading!, 17 July 2011
This review is from: Rock My Socks Off (Paperback)
A top notch sexy read that combined wit, humour, erotica and romance all rolled together in a delightfully entertaining story. No one can pull of that combination quite the way Jeremy Edwards can. I've enjoyed the author's short stories for years and reading this, his debut novel, was an absolute joy. Kick back with your favorite tipple and be prepared to be thoroughly entertained.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing short story, 5 Nov. 2010
This review is from: Woe in Kabukicho (Kindle Edition)
This is an intriguing short story by an established and talented writer of erotic fiction. Woe in Kabukicho focuses on a relationship between a British woman and a man she meets in a Japanese host bar. It's a delicious dip into Japanese culture, and the writer has a knack of capturing the experience of being in a Japanese city through vivid, sensuous imagery, which only makes me wish it was longer. (Though the author's note tells me the male protagonist features in another book, so I'll be looking out for that one.) The steamy eroticism of the story is given weight and poignancy in the denouement of the story. A lovely short read that has stayed with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique erotic read, 2 Nov. 2010
This review is from: Ondine (Kindle Edition)
I fell in love with Giselle Renarde's voice while reading her short stories in anthologies. Sensual, quirky and literary, she has a gift for characterization that really engages me as a reader.

ONDINE was my first longer work by this author. I'm wow-ed by this story. It's so unique and engaging, and unlike anything I've read before. Hard to classify, it straddles genres - erotic fiction, romance, women's fiction--with the kind of resonance you would find in work by a writer such as Anäis Nin.

The protagonist is a young Canadian artist who is commissioned by a wealthy hotelier. As she meets various members of the Drinkwater family she uncovers secrets from their past--secrets which will influence the destiny of everyone in the present. The author cleverly tells us a story within a story within a story, a complex structure but done with sophistication, weaving a compelling tale. The legacy of Ondine, a beautiful ballerina, is at the heart of the tale, and what strikes me most is how the author shows us how Ondine's tale influences everyone involved, forging a powerful sense of desire and destiny throughout. The author doesn't shy away from the looking at the darker side of human nature while portraying her character's most uplifting and heartfelt moments too. Much enjoyed! I'll be hunting out more work by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intense erotica with a romantic undertow, 26 Sept. 2006
This first person narrative sucks you in from the first lines! Maria is bored by her new job in a big government building, (I could so relate to that!) so when she finds out the sort of sexy goings on that happen behind the scenes, she's more than ready to get involved. Her boss, Mr Stone, is an intense, sexy man, and when she gets tangled up in a hot liaison with him you better be ready to be riveted to the pages! If you enjoy kinky erotica with a strong romantic undertow, you'll love this latest Portia Da Costa novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spicy action adventure, 14 Mar. 2005
This review is from: The Bane Affair (Paperback)
This was a terrific read. This story (and the rest of the SG-5 series of books it links to) has a fast-paced action adventure plot. It's all the things you'd expect from a high calibre book of that genre, and the strong female voice behind the writing brought an erotic, romantic and emotionally-complex angle to it that made it an extremely enjoyable read!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Classy, hot read., 2 Mar. 2005
If you like your heroes tall, dark, handsome and mysterious, this is the book for you! The author has created a compelling mystery man here, and he's sexy as hell to top it off. The heroine can't resist taking a chance and gets to know her enigmatic neighbour. The result is a very steamy romance and you also get two romances for the price of one, with an entirely different type of a couple in the sub plot. Alison Kent writes hot reads for readers who want the more confident, sexually-charged characters of today. Keep 'em coming Alison!!
