4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pegs!, 27 Feb. 2013

I get fed up with plastic clothes pegs breaking or coming apart. These wooden ones won't look as bright on your line, but they do exactly what it says on the tin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great general purpose ink., 27 Feb. 2013

This is the second pack of ink cartridges I have bought. The quality is not quite up to the original HP cartridges, and the colours are not as bold. I also suspect that they don't quite last as long, but at half the price they are great for normal printing. I edit our church magazine and it comes out fine, and prints OK on the church copier. The black one is about as dense as HP.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good wet fun!, 27 Feb. 2013

We didn't get the version illustrated, (4 small mats) but got two of the larger ones. [We had the small mat set, but with two young grandchildren, there were always disagreements]. The big mats are just as good and work the same way as the smaller versions. The only problem is that this set has a felt brush with a water trough (which is non-spill) as well as the water filled pens. If using the brushes, it takes no time at all to reveal the whole of the picture, whereas with the pen, it last a lot longer. The grandchildren have enjoyed it - and that's all you can ask.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yet another good book from Douglas Reeman., 27 Feb. 2013

This review is from: The Horizon : (Hardcover)
This is the third book in the Blackwood - Royal Marines saga. This one takes place in the WWI and they realise that the marine's tradition of wearing red to hide the blood stains is causing them casualties in 'modern warfare'. The first half of the book is about the Galipoli campaign, where Jonathan Blackwood leads a very young contingent of marines into a horrifying war for which they were not prepared. The second half is about the Naval Division in Flanders and the horrific trench warfare, with it's attendant awful losses and the futility of sending men out to certain death, just to gain a few feet of ground. 'The Horizon' is the name given to the edge of the trench, which for only too many, was the last thing they saw. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good yarn from Douglas Reeman, 27 Feb. 2013

This review is from: The First To Land (Hardcover)
I have liked reading Douglas Reeman for some time, but had only read the WWII books. I looked on the website 'Fantastic Fiction' and found he had another series of books about the Blackwood family. I bought the first in the series, 'Badge of Glory' just to see what it was like. Although it was set in the old Royal Navy with sailing ships (1850), and recounted the tales of the first of the Blackwoods in the Royal Marines, I found I liked it and bought a couple more. These follow different generations of Blackwoods, all in the marines, as they go to war. This one is 50 years later and is about Captain David Blackwood V.C. and his exploits in the Boxer Rebellion in China. It is well written and 'sucked me in' rapidly. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music, 18 Dec. 2011
I bought this CD primarily because I like Jacqueline du Pré. Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance Marches and the Enigma Variations are are ecellent pieces, but when combined with Jacqueline du Pré it becomes superb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Drive, 13 Nov. 2011
My hard drive became almost full recently and everything was running slowly. I replaced it with this larger drive and reloaded everything and everything works so much faster. This generic drive was half the price of similar branded drives, but has proved equal to the task.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mournful Mozart, 13 Nov. 2011
I bought this CD mainly for the Clarinet Concerto in A, but found the rest of the CD equally listenable. The Clarinet piece is superbly done and brings out all the mournful sound we all know and love. The quintet piece was one I personally had not heard before, but was equally well done and will not dissappoint.
