Shades of Grey by Fforde, Jasper ( 2010 )
Shades of Grey by Fforde, Jasper ( 2010 )

4.0 out of 5 stars A hilarious futuristic novel, definitley worth reading!, 27 Nov. 2014
I am not normally someone who selects science fiction to read, but a friend passed this book on to me 4 years ago. Even though it's been a few years since I've read it, I still remember it well.It is a futuristic novel that parodies the prejudices in our society in hilarious ways. The society portrayed in the novel takes a step back into a world where spoons are a rarity and society is divided up into groups of people who are assigned a colour on the basis of their perceived standing. The author creates new words and concepts to depict his characters and one cannot help but chuckle at his inventiveness. Definitely worth a read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, 1 Jan. 2013

This review is from: Dear Tooth Fairy (Paperback)
I ordered this book for my kids when they lost their first teeth and it has remained a firm favourite since! They love reading the exchange of letters between Holly, the main character, and the tooth fairy, and the suspense of opening the envelopes to see what the Tooth Fairy brought Holly keeps them glued every time. I have given this book as a present at least ten times!

It's great to find a series that shows that character building and success only come through hard work! The characters are multi-layered and believable and the plot is riveting.

4.0 out of 5 stars English Unlimited Advanced Coursebook, 12 Dec. 2011
The book deals with a variety of interesting topics that should suit heterogeneous as well as homegeneous groups. The activities are challenging enough and introduce vocabulary in meaningful contexts. The extension activities that are available are also useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bruch: works for clarinet and viola, 22 Nov. 2010
This CD shows for the viola the same virtuosity and captivating, moving melodies for which Bruch's famous violin concerto became so famous. The clarinet and viola form a haunting, melacholic combination. The Romance is spell-binding.
