5.0 out of 5 stars Commando Hero's, 28 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great book yet again by Neil Barber. It's a great read and gives a great insight into Scotty's service especially around D-Day and the days and weeks after. I would recommend this book to any person who likes reading military history.

2.0 out of 5 stars Scare Monger Blames!, 28 Mar 2014
Well after a discussion at work, a friend told me to check out this new film just released on blu ray, says it's a great film, great effects and plenty of bonus extra's. Being a massive Lord of the Rings fan I'd been waiting along time for these new prequels to come out. So it arrived and I sat down to watch the first in this new series of three 'catching fire'. Well after an hour into it (yes I was enjoying it) I kind of got the impression I was missing something here, like a build up and introduction of the characters, tell me a bit out them and how they came to take part in these games. Because of this I found it hard to relate to the characters and I didn't really know why these relationships had taken place. It was like boom, straight in with the story. After this first film I can't really see where it is going or how it will link into future films. As for the title, hunger games, you thought it would be focusing the story on food but it isn't actually and is quite misleading, I also failed to see anybody catching on fire as well. But that's a minor gripe. The main highlight for me was the return to the big screen of Woody Allen, he hasn't featured in many big films for a long time and I thought his demeanor suited his character haymish very well so that's a plus for the film.

1.0 out of 5 stars Meat and two veg, 20 Dec 2011
Bought this book for my father who is well in to cooking programs and books. He is quite a dab hand in the kitchen if i do say so myself. Well, the other night my father rang to inform me he had scanned through this book high and low looking for a good beef risotto. Found this very dissapointing as i was informed that Hugh Hefner has revolutionized the modern way of cooking and thought this book would be great for my father. Its quite clear that if you like meat dishes you better get use to veg.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sean Bean- Sharpe, 20 Dec 2011
This box set was recommended to me by a friend after I told him I was a massive Sharpe and Sean Bean fan. After many years of watching all the Sharpes, i sat down to watch Downton Abbey. I was not impressed to see no Sean Bean or anything remotely linking into the Sharpe series. This was explained to me as being a great historic program, true to its roots. I believe that this isnt even set any time around the era of Sharpe. In my view Sharpe was not given the full credit that was due and it also propelled Sean Bean to stardom. Sharpe lovers, dont be fooled into this. Ive given it 3/5 after trawling my way through it, found Dame Judi Dench to be very good at playing the countess of Grantham.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Father of the Bride, 20 Dec 2011
Well, this is more like 'Bribes made' the wife suckered me in to watching this. This prequal to father of the bride is no where near as funny as the actual versions. I struggled to see where this actually fitted into the 'father of the bride' story line and this film is really lacking Steve Martin for the comedy effect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dreamworks at its best, 20 Dec 2011
This review is from: Cars 2 [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Awesome film, one for all the family, this is dreamworks at its best. If your looking for a great storyline with a fun plot this is it, lots of laughs. The main character Alexander McQueen just makes the film. The kids just cannot stop watching it. Treat them for christmas.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Dungeon and dragons, 20 Dec 2011
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Aquired this game last week expecting the classic dungeon and dragons game after seeing it advertised on tv. This re release of the 80's classic is nothing like dungeon and dragons. The game is more advanced and graphics are 100 times better than the original, game play is so much better. I would not recommend this if your looking for the old classic version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pro B. Cox at his best, 20 Dec 2011
This is a must have for any planet lover. Some of the footage is unreal and i cannot believe how they have managed to capture some of this, Amazing. This really is professor Brian Cox at his best explaining the most confusing ways of nature in his own words, he just makes it sound so simple. This is must have and is pure gold.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor man's crosby, 18 Dec 2011
If you are looking for good covers of original frankie and bing songs, you have bought the wrong album. Best ive found on here is a westlife cover of Home. This young american chap appears just to emphasise ever 2nd or 3rd word and drags it out. Poor mans Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, wont be around for long.
