5.0 out of 5 stars "Judy" is just the right size to be carried like a puppy by the scruff of the neck around ..., 15 Mar. 2015

This toy is a lovely companion "teddy bear" for our Bedlington Terrier. We call her Judy and she gets taken everywhere, to bed, upstairs, into the kitchen. The dog often grooms "Judy" who can be washed in warm water and left to drip dry every few months. "Judy" is just the right size to be carried like a puppy by the scruff of the neck around the house, and the fur must take on the odour of the dog's saliva and is therefore part of the pack. Sadly, about once a year, our dog decides that Judy needs shredding, and we come home to find her guts ripped out - poor Judy - so we keep a spare back up in a draw and hey presto, "Judy" is back again for round 2. Or round 7 as it is now

5.0 out of 5 stars On top of their game, 29 Nov. 2013
This was always my favourite Banana album I always loved the Jolley/Swain tracks - and the two "new" tracks that were presumably dropped to accommodate Venus and More Than Physical don't disappoint. A 7" version of More Than Physical would have made this complete, but the extra tracks are all excellent. For me Ghost is perhaps one of their best songs, White Train, Scarlett are also excellent. Set On Your is classic early Stock Aitken Waterman almost a prototype - I loved this album back in 1986, I still do now

The DVD is excellent although the making of Trick Of The Night is very dated and doesn't show the group in the best light

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Album, 29 Nov. 2013
This review is from: Bananarama (Bonus DVD) (Audio CD)
After the fun and we don't care attitude of their debut album this was the bananas attempt at being serious, getting a message across and being thoughtful - sadly 2 of the singles were virtually overlooked although Cruel Summer and Robert De Niro were monster hits.

This album has a classic mid 80s sound and is much more consistent that their other albums (apart from WOW). There are some great b sides and extra tracks - why wasn't the 7" of Hotl Line To Heaven a much bigger hit? It sounds excellent remastered. Rather jarring is the addition of Cruel Summer 89 remix - but where else would it go?

5.0 out of 5 stars 80's classic, 29 Nov. 2013
They may dismiss this album as naive or rushed or we didn't know what we were doing and the lyrics are like nursery rhymes but Deep Sea Skiving is a classic 80's album from start to finish and captures the shambolic we don't care attitude of Bananarama that was often misunderstood. All their first hits (apart from It Ain't What Ya Do) are there with alternative US remix versions in crystal clear form with lots of B-sides rarities and great extra tracks. The DVD DOES show however though that those early promos were probably not their most polished work but they are of the time. 'Hey Young London' is a stand out track for me and could be just as relevant now as it was 30 years ago
