3.0 out of 5 stars Survival Horror turned into a 3rd person shooter., 30 Sep 2013
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dead Space 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
This is an awful Dead Space game the poorest of the three.
What was once a resource scarce game has become a game where you can make as much bullets or health packs you can get your hands on.
The story is robustly padded out with flabby and those annoying side missions that are more like a dungeon hunting game. You will gain a load of stuff if you do this to craft more health packs and ammo etc :(

I say I don't like this game but when it gets back to its dead space roots this game really shines.

Plays like a dream. On impossible level it's still an easy game to play. Once finished you will unlock a number of Game+ there's an option to play it as the original Dead Space game which sounds promising, guessing resources can't be crafted taking this back to its roots and making it a survival horror and not a 3rd person shooter.

Verdict: Enjoyable romp but marred by flabby padded story, over powered single weapon and annoying resource crafting.

I recommend dead Space that is a fantastic game and dead space 2 to me DS2 is a gaming master piece a work of art.

1.0 out of 5 stars Game FREEZE still not fixed!!!!!!!, 5 Jan 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Resistance 3 (PS3) (Video Game)
The game is fine and works well when it is playable. But get to a certain point and it may freeze and then that's it.

I wouldn't bother buying it. As IG haven't even fixed this issue after many many many months. Nothing wrong with my PS3.

1.0 out of 5 stars If your expecting FALLOUT or a fallout sized game?, 5 Feb 2012
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Combat is good, slightly varied. Nods a cap to other games like MGS, Doom etc those little things that make a world believable.
The game is far too SMALL, If your expecting FALLOUT or a fallout sized game with out the dialogue tree than you will be sorely disappointed.

This is no open sand box world.

The graphics are great as are the characters etc....

The SEWER bit add on? what? theres nothing to it at all.

I usually play my games on the HARDEST setting available it gave a good fight.

I'm curious as too why this game is so small?

Couldn't believe it the game just gets going and boom its over like a burst balloon. Oh well... 10 years to make this? really? Makes me feel like I missed the point entirely of this game or was there another layer of game in there I missed?

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the most beautiful game you will ever play., 28 Aug 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Possibly the most beautiful game you will ever play.

This is a work of art find a high place and watch the weather (an amazing effects engine in its self) and the sun setting and rising it is stunning.

This is a work of genius, from the music to the game play and to the graphics engine.

Now to game play if you like to shoot realistic guns then this is for you. Forget dead eye that does make certain things better but try aiming and shooting you will soon become an expert in revolvers, pistols, shotguns & Rifles.

I cant put enough praise on this game.

The only bug I noticed (which doesn't happen often after 60 hours play) a burrito and rider (amongst others) may be stuck in the ground but this does not happen often.

Game takes about 35 hours to complete... You will want to stay there much longer than that.

The DLC the zombie one is a fantastic story to play.

5.0 out of 5 stars DASH SNOWS LIFE IN POLAROIDS!, 24 Mar 2011
This review is from: Dash Snow: Polaroids (Paperback)
A Better Place: Dash Snow's Polaroids in pictures

Artist and photographer, Dash Snow, who died in 2009 at the age of 27.
Dash taunted his audience, daring them to accept sex and drug binges as art.
Here's a collection of these Polaroids.

Published posthumously.

I have never seen a more frank book than this, Larry Clarks Tulsa being one other I can think of the top of my head.
This is DANS life as it happened.
As in Nan Goldin's photography, she uses the photograph as an actual aid to memory, again here Dan specifically uses the Polaroid as an aid to memory, to remember "night before".
A "memory bank" of adventures within an alternative lifestyle & a "talisman" for a certain strata of society.

I dare you not to look and gawk or sheepishly wander through this entire book.

If I had known Dan I would probably not be here too.

Why Polaroids? in Dans words "I've alway been a fan of the proportion, the framing, the grain and the unpredictability of colour with polaroid film."

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple premise with great execution., 4 Dec 2010
A contemplative book.
A student of Bechers.
Photos taken over four years in abandoned Soviet Army Installations.
Traces of there occupation still remain. Decayed by time & regime passing.
Photos are taken in natural light resulting in an almost medative set of work, pictures of quiet solitude & a reflective work. OOP.

5.0 out of 5 stars PSP 1000 users & small Duo SD card users please take note, 30 Jun 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
If you've an old PSP 1000 or a small duo SD card then you will need to buy at least a 2GB card for your PSP. This PSP 1000 will take any size availible at the moment 16GB is availible in June 2010.

I will just have to wait to review the game.

Game needs a save file of 33MB.

You can download the content onto the Duo stick a file size of a basic download around 350MB or the entire game data at 950MB.

5.0 out of 5 stars What can I say byt excellent game., 25 April 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: BioShock 2 (PS3) (Video Game)
Im a fan of the original and the ps3 port suffered badly graphics wise gameplay was the same though for the purists.

However this sequel is far superior product that the last.

Anyhow Ive played through it three times to get 100% trophies, I dont think I had anything better to do.

Its fun romp if some what violent and upgrading plasmids weapons makes you a godlike and is a real laugh when you get powerful.

Well done to Atlas, Ryan, Sinclair and Lamb for your Greed and creating a dystiopia from your single minded vision's of Utopia.
I know there charactors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Photobook Volume 3 Candidate?, 22 Sep 2009
This review is from: The Sartorialist (Paperback)
Well worth the money, the pictures are printed sharp and the colours are fantastic.

Look out for the gent in the screaming purple suit WOW!. Or the oldish Milanese lady with a coat that matches her hair (in colour & texture) and her skin tones (colour). Bellisimo.

This book will eventually make it into Parr & Badgers The Photo Book VOL 3, there is no higher recommendation.
As it is a perfect representation of all Human Beings need to express themselves, their personalities their lives etc via their clothing.

Please do buy this before it goes OOP(Out of Print).

To the author well done a life times work recognised.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE DYLON, 21 Sep 2009
Fairly happy with the intensity of the red on my sweater and t shirt.

I found it did stain the rubber and the inside of the machine apparently black also does the same but it was easy to remove as below.
It does remove entirely from your machine after a 60 degree wash with a cup of bleach added.

A very good clear colour was added to my load a very good product.

I now love dylon.
