5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, 22 Dec 2011
This review is from: Wherever You Are (Audio CD)
Taken from various corrapondence between the wives and their husbands serving in Afganistan and turned into a song, this is a beautiful and moving piece of music. Definatly needs to be Christmas number one, rather than the X Factor rubbish that's been released this year. A stunning and emotional song, totally brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 31 Mar 2011
This is a brilliant play of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. It is very true to the novel and the portrayal of the Creature's learning and development of ideas is particularly well done. Excellent play and brilliant production at the National Theatre by Danny Boyle with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternating the roles of Victor and the Creature. Fabulously done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best thing on TV, 15 Aug 2010
This review is from: Sherlock - Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
Wow.. what can you say about this series - it has been utterly thrilling from start to finish (with maybe a very slight wobble in the middle). Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are excellent as Holmes and Watson, perfect casting and the supporting cast of Una Stubbs and Rupert Graves is fab too. All credit to Mark Gatiss and of course the wonderful Steven Moffat who's work I have loved ever since 'Coupling'. Moffat and Vertue (series producer) said on BBC Breakfast that more episodes are a when, not if... I really hope this is true..the BBC would be mad not to comission more of this terrific series.

4.0 out of 5 stars PS3 fits in it too, 5 May 2010
I bought this bag after searching for one which would fit a PS3, as there doesn't appear to be one made specifically for the console (that I have managed to find in shops / online).

The PS3 slim fits very well in this - bit roomy round width-wise (roughly 2" on either side) but perfect depth-wise. And enough room to fit some games, a controller and the leads without a problem.

At last a good, sturdy, nice looking bag to transport my PS3 in - thank you Belkin, and thank you Amazon!

4.0 out of 5 stars A worthy successor to Phantom, 7 Mar 2010
I saw this show on the 27th Feb, and despite having some reservations about it because of Phantom (which in my opinion, is the best show in the West End), I went along with an open mind, not judging before I had seen it, as some people have done.

I thought that LND is actually really very good! There are some very tiny snippets of music from Phantom in the score, however I think its a good thing that they departed from the original so much - after all, its a completly different show set in a different time and place (even though the charatcers obviously follow through). Having said that, there are still some beautiful songs ('Til I Hear You Sing' being one of the best) in it, and some catchy tunes too ('Bathing Beauties' is one to easily get stuck in your head!). There is also some spectacle with the song 'Beauty Underneath' which is a lot of fun.

The cast are all excellent, notably Sierra B (Christine), Summer S (Meg Giry) and in particular Ramin K (the Phantom) who brings his fabulous performance from the original Phantom. The only downside for me was the fairly abrupt ending, but otherwise it is a fun and emotional rollercoaster ride with some brilliant, lively and gorgeous songs which - I think - is a worthy successor to Phantom of the Opera and is well worth seeing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great start to Robbies comeback..., 24 Oct 2009
I love Robbies new single 'Bodies', very catchy song! Also watched the Electric Proms programme and thought the two other songs he sang from this album ('Starstruck' and 'Deceptacon') were excellent songs. It sounds like he's going back to the brilliant songs of his previous albums - from what I've heard of this album, this is the start of a great and very welcome return for Robbie Williams!

I think this show is fantastic. It absolutly captures X factor and all those other reality shows brilliantly - the sob stories, the judges comments, the type of contestant etc etc etc. It's TV Gold.

This film is a joy to watch - the young cast are all great and bring real emotion to the characters in this thrilling, visually astounding - and often quite funny - film. Wonderful to watch, a true must see film this year!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, 30 Mar 2009
This review is from: Burn After Reading [DVD] (DVD)
I bought this after reading cinema release reviews and some early dvd-user reviews which said that it was a great film, but only just got round to giving it a go. I was very disappointed with it and found it overacted, unfunny and generally very boring. So unengaging that I didn't bother watching it to the end, shame really seeing as the cast and directing team have made some brilliant films previously, but this was a real blooper.
