5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, a real page turner, 23 May 2014

My daughter recommended this book, and l can see why. Calvin Wade writes in such a way that the reader is drawn into the plot.
It has made me want to read more of his books.

A 1950s Childhood: From Tin Baths to Bread and Dripping
A 1950s Childhood: From Tin Baths to Bread and Dripping

4.0 out of 5 stars Paul Feeney has produced a very comprehensive book about life for children in the fifties, 23 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I enjoyed this book overall. It went into quite a lot of detail about life in the fifties which, of being a similar age, l could empathise with.
I would have liked Paul to have enlarged upon his own experiences more, and compared life then, to life now, for children in the twenty first century.

The amount of historical detail and dates given show how much research he must have carried out, whilst compiling this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Article was as displayed, 23 May 2014

Article is quite small, and came in a largish box, perhaps a padded jiffy bag would have sufficed? Pedi refill arrived within the time frame, and is of a good quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars The trap by Kimberley chambers, 7 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Trap (Kindle Edition)
I found this book to be both horrifying yet fascinating. Ms chambers writes confidently about a world of gangsters who have no moral compass of what is right or wrong, their only priority is getting what they want, whenever they want. Conversely, they have a great love of their families, particularly their mother Queenie in this story. The reader is drawn into the tough east end of London's gangsters world five decades ago. Riveting reading.

A Fortune-Teller Told Me: Earthbound Travels in the Far East
A Fortune-Teller Told Me: Earthbound Travels in the Far East

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting book, 3 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The author vividly described the countries and their many customs and religions that he visited in the year that he decided not to fly anywhere, due to a fortune teller's prophesy.

He was very aware that there are many fraudsters, but couldn't resist still trying to find one that he could really believe!

I am still unsure whether he really felt that fortune tellers are genuine!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked on reading Ed James, after reading this book, 4 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I chose this rating because l found the whole book exciting and un-putdownable!
I couldn't wait to order the three other Scott Cullen mysteries!

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read Peter James thrillers. Whereas Peter James uses Brighton and Hove as a backdrop to his stories, Ed James shows a great knowledge of Scotland, basing his books around Edinburgh in particular.

Overall, I would recommend this to a wide variety of readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly enjoyed reading this, 4 Jan 2014

I found that l couldn't wait to read the rest of the story, and ordered Book two straight away, as Book one finished on a bit of a cliff-hanger!

Ian Irving is now one of my favourite authors, which l am happy to recommend.

Magimix 18328 3200 Food Processor in Satin
Magimix 18328 3200 Food Processor in Satin
Price: 191.43

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, compact food processor, 15 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I chose this rating because the 18328 3200 magimix is great to use, and ideal for people who have limited space in their kitchen, and want a more compact food processor.

It is very versatile, and does what it says it can do!

There are lots of functions, and for people who like to cook, particularly baking, is a great help in the kitchen.
