Superb album, 4 Sept. 2013
About Farewell is a wonderful album that is reflective, poignant and deep in meaning. Alela Diane sings about past lovers and the ending of relationships with a great deal of feeling and honesty. She creates feelings of empathy and as a listener I found myself relating to a lot of the concepts she describes. For example, 'The Way We Fall' is about how we never know when it is the last time that we will see someone or experience something and how the memories of the situation mingle with regret.
I am a big fan of Alela's music and this album is as rich and thought-provoking as The Pirates Gospel and To Be Still. It was truly a pleasure to listen to and I look forward to future releases from Alela. I definitely recommend buying it!
