5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!...Shame KitchenAid don't improve their own beater, 7 Jan 2011
I was only bemoaning the inadequacies of my current KitchenAid beater blade, in that I'm continually having to scrape with a spatula between beats, when I read about this in a sugarcraft magazine. No longer, do I have to continually scrape between beats and it really speeds up the process. You also don't get that unmixed floury lump at the bottom that you do with the original blade that KitchenAid provide. Love it! Quite expensive though...depends on how often you use your KitchenAid mixer.

Not really a toy for 3+. My daughter finds it quite hard as her hands are not really big enough. My husband on the other hand....loves it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Inspired? Yes. Fed up of spending money on Lindy's cutter's? Yes!, 18 Feb 2009
The cakes in this book are inspiring (though the Madiera recipe is certainly not the best I've used - a little too dry!). However, almost without exception, they require pretty substantial investment in cutters (almost all metal and a significant number manufactured exclusively for Lindy Smith!). There are some truly beautiful cakes in this book but you have to be sure you're going to want to do them again to invest in the tools required.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stunning ideas, 18 Feb 2009
Great ideas for achieving some wonderful results. Could do with more step-by-step photography though (for us novices). Does inspire you to really want to have a go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Are there any cookies NOT included in this book?, 18 Feb 2009
Good basic recipes and some unusual ones too. It can be quite a pain using 'cups' to measure everything though. Lots of American terms used (Canola Oil is Rapeseed Oil) but once you get your head around that, there are some amazing cookies in this book (Oatmeal & Raisin are the best you'll taste) and some lovely ideas for how to present them as gifts.
