4.0 out of 5 stars Mesmorizing, 17 April 2006
This combination, of Kieran Hedben's Laptop electronica noodles and Steve Reid's jazz comes most naturally, and you are unsure when listening to the music where the sounds have come from. They blend together so effortlessly that you find yourself trapped and lost at the same time. The first few listens can seem irritating, and myself not being a great fan of jazz, needed a few listens to let it sink in. I have to argue the comment from another reviewer who states he could produce this using crockory pots, you couldn't, but even if you could, I'm sure there may still be something interesting in the outcome. If you are a fan of four tet, then there's definatly enough here to interest you, listened to on headphones, when your a little tired, is hypnotic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Storyless?... Thats the whole point, 17 Sep 2004
When i saw this film in the cinema i felt it carried with it something special and magical, but i couldn't figure out what. Me and my girlfriend both agreed that we loved it, but both didn't quite now why. On buying the DVD as soon as it was released i realised why i took so much of a shine to this movie. It is simplistic as a storyline, but has lots of detail regarding human emotions. All portrayed with a gentle subtilty which is present in our everyday lives, just we don't always see it. I pitty those who found this film boring and storyless, because you have quite clearly missed the point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another beautiful piece of work by Sigur ros, 17 July 2004
This review is from: Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do (Audio CD)
This latest release by Sigur ros is a collection of three songs written specifically for Merce Cunninghams dance project 'split sides'. Radiohead also contributed to the EP. The music is quite experimental and different to anything Sigur ros have done before, yet it still sounds like them. Soothing and relaxing simplistic melodies, with various synth sounds and ambient noises blending together to create a wash of different sounds clashing against each other. The content here is very mininal, and should not be compared to their full length releases. The music doesn't really tend to go anywhere and it very repetative, but all the more beautiful for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great performance, but where's the audience?, 30 Nov 2003
This review is from: Live In Tokyo (Audio CD)
If your looking for a Pearl Jam show with the crowd singing along, banter between band memebers, long Jams etc. then this isnt the one for you. But if your someone who isn't bothered about hearing the crowd then this is a great CD. The band seem amazingly tight and together, worth puchasing purely because it's from Japan! but there are better boots out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing, 6 Sep 2003
This review is from: Cielo,El (Audio CD)
Everytime i listen to this album, something hits me. The music is so beautiful, origional, relaxing, moving. I find words do not give this album justice. It is simply amazing. As someone said before, Dredg will never be huge, its a shame because they are one of the best bands to come out in a long time. Catch them live if you can because it is truly an experience you won't forget. This band is not for everyone, but if you want to be deeply touched and moved by a piece of music then this is it. Open you hearts, minds and ears and listen to this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're going to buy a live album, buy this!, 20 May 2001
This review is from: Live On Two Legs (Audio CD)
Even though Pearl Jam have released live CD's of every gig on their last tour of both Europe and America, none of them that I have heard match up to the quality of this one. It is the best of the best. The version of 'Black' is the best I have ever heard with the band really going off on one at the end of it. Absolutly amazing, the best band in the world at thier best, what more can you say.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best live band in the world on top form, 13 May 2001
this is a brillant package for any pearl jam fan. This is one of the longest DVD's you will find and is well worth the money. The setlist is great although there is many great songs missing. alive, garden, imortality, present tense, off he goes. Go out and buy this DVD simply is you a fan of great live music. The extra's are also really cool, including the best video ever for do the evolution.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh come on!, 13 Jan 2001
This review is from: Human Clay (Audio CD)
I bought this album because I heard that Creed were pioneering a grunge revival and they sounded like Pearl Jam. They sound nothing like Pearl Jam and they are definately not grunge. Scott Stapps vocals sound so forced, like he is trying to impersonate Daniel Johns (frogstomp era) impersonating Eddie Vedder. Lyrically this is cliched and unoriginal. Musically it should live in the eighties, ballards are usually poor at the best of times but when there done badly, it makes me want to cry. This is potentious rock at it's most conformist. Leather trousers!, average cheesy guitar solos and not a genuine thing about this band or album. 8 million sales in the US!, what is going on. Why not try a descent band like Pearl Jam, whose name has been tarnished by weak Creed comparisons. PS My Own Prison as teribly average as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutly amazing, 28 Dec 2000
This is alice in chains at there finest. this was AIC first show for about 2 years and they sound brilliant. The thing which makes this unplugged show better than the likes of pearl jam and nirvana is the beautiful harmanies between layne staley and jerry canterall (mind the spellings). There voices are out of this world and it would be a crime not to puchase this show. Definatly worth the money, if not more. BUY IT, you won't have any regrets.
